An article appearing in Digitaljournal.com yesterday about CFOSAT.http://www.digitaljournal.com/news/world/first-joint-france-china-satellite-to-study-oceans/article/505587"France and China's space agencies unveiled their first joint satellite in Beijing Friday, which will be used to improve forecasting of ocean storms and cyclones. The satellite, named CFOSAT (China-France Oceanography Satellite), is due to be launched next year by China and will primarily be used to study wind and ocean wave patterns." (para 1 and 2)The satellite will be placed into Earth's orbit in the second half of 2018 by a rocket from China's "Long March" programme. The project is scheduled to last three years." (last paragraph)First Sino-French satellite joint venture. Has France and China collaborated in other spaceflight related joint venture before?
Where did the Q3 launch date come from? The article says launch is in the second half of 2018.
Beijing, March 31 /Xinhua / -- developed by China and France Oceanographic satellite for ocean observations /China-France Oceanography Satellite, CFOSAT/ will be launched in September this year, the Chinese missile technology research Institute reported /CALT/.CFOSAT will be launched into space on Board of the carrier rocket "Changzheng-2C" /lot a/, developed by CALT.It is the first satellite jointly developed by China and France. He will observe the wind and waves on the surface of the ocean, and the data transmitted to them will be used by scientists from the two countries. The satellite will contribute to the further development of technological cooperation between China and France. According to CALT, it is also called upon to contribute to the implementation of the Paris climate agreement.
Launch schedule for October 29, 2018.
Orbit: Sun-synchronous near-circular orbit, altitude of 519 km, inclination = 97º, LTDN (Local Time on Descending Node) = 7:00 hours, the revisit time is 13 days.
According to the Spaceflightfans.cn Chinese launch schedule, several small sats will be launched together with the CFOSAT mission: Zhaojin-1 (TY1-03), Hongyan-1 and other Tianyi sats.

This launch used CZ-2C s/n Y22 (the smallest number left unused, which shows how long this project has been).
Is Jonathan's unknown cubesat Hongyan 1?
NSF has been calling one of the payloads Tiange 1, while Jonathan (jcm) is calling it Tianqi 1. Any explanation of the different names?

I think we both agree the name is 天启 ?The issue is not translation (the translation appears to be "Revelation" or something like that) but transliteration - howdo you spell 天启 in the Latin alphabet? The standard pinyin appears to be 'tianqi' but that's not necessarily unique and there are other conversion systems which are not necessarily better or worse.

Tongchuan patch says gamma-ray mission, but SpaceTy announcement says X-ray. Which is correct?
The GRID-1 experiment on TY4-02 has its first published gamma ray burst paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2107.10452The paper says that the second GRID was launched on a cubesat in 2020. Does anyone know which satellite this second one was?
