The Chinese news sources reported that the FY-4 satellites could only be launched as early as in 2015.

Unless there has been a change in spacecraft designator, the FY-4 series is intended for GEO and therefore one would expect the launch to be aboard a CZ-3A or similar vehicle, rather than the CZ-4C.

Currently a prototype satellite (which will not be launched) is under electronic testing.

The first meteorological satellite of the Fengyun-4 series is schedule for launch in December 2016.

FY-4A is on the final assembly and testing phase.

Development test is complete. The satellite will be launched in mid-December.

FY-4A arrived at Xichang Satellite Launch Center on October 23. Launch is schedule for mid-December.

According to Chinaspaceflight.com, FY-4A will launch on December 11.

Spacecraft separation should have occurred around 1636 UTC, a few minutes ago, per usual CZ-3B timeline, so
we may hear more from Chinese media soon
