According to 9ifly Chinese space forum, the launch team for this mission will arrive at Taiyuan the next weekend.

Latest reports puts this launch at around, or even behind the YG-16 launch (it was supposed to be half a month earlier than the YG launch when the satellite arrived at the launch site). That puts the launch date in mid- (perhaps late) November.

Reports from forum members monitoring blog posts of the launch team reports that the launch date could be on November 12 (after a little calculation with the 22 day nominal launch processing flow). Since the satellite is going for a SSO around the terminator (the local time and descending node is 06:00, according to here: http://database.eohandbook.com/database/missionsummary.aspx?missionID=465), this puts the launch at ~23:00 Zulu on November 11.

A second satellite on board is confirmed?

I believe that XY-1 is almost certainly confirmed to be launch on the same rocket. There are talks of even more payloads on this launch, but I can't confirm it at this stage.

And nope, it doesn't look like it will launch today either, with zero news about the launch during the last few days..... 

Edit: after finding quite a few blogs of the people working at the launch site, I am still not sure when the launch will come, but at least the preparations seems to be coming to a close soon. Oh and it surely looks cold there with the rolling hills completely covered with snow!

Turns out that the launch is still about a week away..... 

(would be interesting if HJ-1C, ZX-12 and YG-16 all launch within a week of each other!  )

Not sure if this is correct.............. another source said that the launch date is a bit later than that, in late November. With the ZX-12 launch on November 22 and the YG-16 launch also pointing towards late November (the satellite trio were transferred to the pad yesterday), it should be interesting to watch next week!

In the meantime, here's a model of XY-1 displayed at the Zhuhai Airshow right now: (the strange structure of the satellite with two trusses hanging on either side hosting the payloads was apparently due to the tight space inside the payload fairing that it has to share with the big SAR antenna of HJ-1C, which also caused some of the original payloads to be dropped  )

I think the one to the right is SJ-9A, while the left one is the Electromagnetic Monitoring Test Satellite, currently still in design phase.
