After successful tests in @ESA ESTEC - @eumetsat #Metop-C satellite moved to Toulouse last week. Preparing for launch in October '18
Today @eumetsat and its partners @ESA_EO, @CNES and @NOAASatellites are in @AirbusDefence to see #metop-C in clean room. Next @eumetsat launch planned on September 20.

The MetOp-C launch campaign has kicked off with the first of three Antonovs landing at Cayenne Airport, French Guiana on 20 June.
The cargo aircraft transported 11 containers of equipment for ground support and IT-infrastructure, followed by the second, carrying the two main modules of the spacecraft a few days later. The third and final Antonov brought the solar array.
This is all in preparation for the launch of the third polar-orbiting satellite in the Meteorological Operational satellite programme. This programme was procured by ESA for Eumetsat, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites.
The first two satellites were launched in 2006 and 2012. The launch of MetOp-C later this year will continue the success story of the most important set of sensors for weather prediction in space today.
Following the arrival of the MetOp-C at Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, in the first week of July, the team has been busy testing and preparing the satellite for launch.
While activities are currently running on schedule, they will put on hold in mid-August and resume in mid-September because the launch date has been moved from 20 September to 6 November.
MetOp-C is the third polar-orbiting satellite in the Meteorological Operational satellite programme. This programme was procured by ESA for Eumetsat, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites.
The series of MetOp satellites carry a host of sensitive instruments to measure a wide range of variables such as temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction over oceans, ozone and other atmospheric gases. The first two satellites were launched in 2006 and 2012.
The launch of MetOp-C in November will continue the success story of the most important set of sensors for weather prediction in space today.
Will this not be a Fregat-MT?No because the predecessor MetOp's A and B used original standard Fregat's. Fregat-M is the successor to the original Fregat.
Interesting. So if I'm informed correctly this will be the first Soyuz ST-B using a Fregat-M upper stage.
Starsem performed test launches of the STA and STB versions out of Baikonur before being flown from CSG. Those flights used the standard fregat. Fregat-MT made its first flight out of CSG.Interesting. So if I'm informed correctly this will be the first Soyuz ST-B using a Fregat-M upper stage.
Or it could be the first Soyuz-STB with a standard Fregat.
Any impacts on this launch because of the MS-10 Failure?
Any impacts on this launch because of the MS-10 Failure?
Will be likely delayed.
All Soyuz versions are grounded by the State commission with the lone exception of Soyuz-2.1v which does not use the strap-on boosters.Any impacts on this launch because of the MS-10 Failure?
Will be likely delayed.
I'm hearing the same thing. The strap-on boosters of R7-derived vehicles, such as Soyuz-FG and Soyuz-ST, are now suspect, courtesy of the MS-10 mishap earlier today.
Soyuz-ST uses the same basic set-up for the strap-on boosters. Until they are cleared the booster for this mission is grounded.
Next mission is for Eumetsat on 6 November [local time]. Waiting on information from Roscosmos.
Do we know the Fregat-M serial number?
Does this success bring crewed launches again one step closer?

What ‘strange’ number do you have for the rocket?

27
And there is only one serial number, the one from the manufacturer ;-)

So the manufacturer’s serial number would be 25/137 for rocket?

That would make the most sense currently yes, for the machine number.
I don't have the actual serial number stamped on the launcher (Р15000-014?) as my eyeball mark 1 wasnt local...
IASI-C, qui équipe le dernier satellite météo #MetOp lancé le 6 novembre, vient de livrer ses premières données (voir image). Elles attestent du bon fonctionnement de l’interféromètre 👍 http://bit.ly/2Qt0j9S
IASI-C, a payload of the latest meteorological satellite MetOp launched on the 6th of November, has just given its first results (see image). They bear witness to the correct functioning of the interferometer.
