SSLV-D3/EOS-08 Mission:

✅The third developmental flight of SSLV is successful. The SSLV-D3 🚀placed EOS-08 🛰️ precisely into the orbit.

🔹This marks the successful completion of ISRO/DOS's SSLV Development Project.

🔸 With technology transfer, the Indian industry and @NSIL_India will now produce SSLV for commercial missions 🇮🇳.

A remarkable milestone! Congratulations to our scientists and industry for this feat. It is a matter of immense joy that India now has a new launch vehicle. The cost-effective SSLV will play an important role in space missions and will also encourage private industry. My best wishes to @isro, @INSPACeIND, @NSIL_India and the entire space industry.

1) As posted above, the real name of the main satellite is Microsat 2C!
2) The second stage seemed to under perform, but the vehicle was able to make up for the shortfall and reach the desired orbit.
3) Third stage separation.
4) Microsat 2C separation.
5) SR-0 Demosat separation.

Final orbit is rather elliptical, 444 x 525 km, possibly reflecting underperformance.

CelesTrak has GP data for 4 objects from the launch (2024-147) of EOS-08 atop an SSLV rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Aug 16 at 0347 UTC: spacenews.com/indian-solid-s…. Data for the launch can be found at: https://celestrak.org/NORAD/elements/table.php?INTDES=2024-147

Final orbit is rather elliptical, 444 x 525 km, possibly reflecting underperformance.

However...this was the data shown post-spacecraft separation. I also find it interesting that the perigee and apogee values almost brackets 475 km pretty well, so it's possible USSF got the eccentricity value wrong (I think I've seen this before for newly launched objects).

Final orbit is rather elliptical, 444 x 525 km, possibly reflecting underperformance.

To follow this up, 3 out of 4 objects from this launch have updated orbital data and they look much more normal now:

2024-147A/60454 (EOS-08?): 463 x 476 km x 37.38°
2024-147C/60456 (SSLV 3rd stage?): 338 x 452 km x 36.93°
2024-147D/60457 (SSLV 4th stage?): 435 x 476 km x 37.37°

2024-147B/60455 is probably Space Rickshaw-0 and still has the old orbital parameters of 412 x 511 km x 37.40° for now, likely to be wrong.

None of the three updated TLE sets seems to fit SR-0 observations, so we expect 2024-147B/60455 to be the one when it is fixed.

A new update on the TLE set fixed 2024-147B/60455 orbit. Still not fully fitted on the observations, probably because it is based on older data.
