Interesting that video shows the CDR *isn't* wearing his pressure suit gloves.

I think the SRB and ET cam views are from STS 114 or later. The Bipods look like the new design after Columbia and there weren't SRB and ET cams in those days, AFAIK.

The exterior shots of the shuttle on the pad and during launch are all from STS-121 last year.  But the flight deck footage is  from STS-78 in 1996.  According to the shuttle mission summaries...

http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/shuttlemissions/archives/sts-78.html

...that was the first modern shuttle flight to have video recording in the flight deck.

There is STS-8. While Commander Hendricks in 78 wasn't wearing his gloves, Commander Truly on 8 was wearing those blue fatigues and a souped up motorcycle helmet pretty much, and he bounces around twice as bad as the CDR in 78...those pumpkin suits are quite a jolt damper at T-0

Yes I recall seeing the in-cabin films from STS-8 lighting up at the first ngiht launch.  But that wasn't live video and that  was the first shuttle era, not the modern era....  they did have pretty light gear for flight suits from 1982-1986..basically pants a windbreaker and a helmet essentially!  The astronauts have mentioned that   the orange pressure suits are more uncomfortable  but since they are bulkier and thicker they do insulate them more from the sound and vibrations of the launch a little bit.

Additionally, I believe this video is the same but only from a different vantage point and sped up, it a MPEG file and it'll play in quicktime.
