I don't have a feel for where the worst dangers are, but there was a wildfire or two not far from McGregor (SpaceX land) last week.

That is closer to the Dallas area, we are further south by about 3 hours drive

With the long drought suppose it was inevitable, however can understand what texas is going through slightly as the Great Dismal Swamp caught fire in Virginia and it took a hurricane to put it out (Irene)

They're kind of everywhere.  Right now the biggest threat seems to be in the east-central part of the state (around Austin and inbetween Houston and DFW).  There are counties just north of Houston (the burbs really because Houston is HUGE) that are now beginning evacuations.

It's too bad my namesake didn't drift slowly through Texas instead of turning North-East.

If I like something on NSF, it's probably because I know it to be accurate.  Every once in a while, it's just something I agree with.  Facts generally receive the former.

One exacerbation is a lack of camels.  Google pleistocene rewilding if you are curious.

True of Californian fires too.

Elasmotherium; hurlyburly Doggerlandic Jentilak steeds insouciantly gallop in viridescent taiga, eluding deluginal Burckle's abyssal excavation.
