Oh my. This is interesting. Will have to look a bit more into what Jacobs is more inclined to favor on the CEV side of things.

Yeah that is a big contract. I'm a little confused here though. Is this just to develop the Inline SDHLV, or is Jacobs another team in the CEV contractor race, in addition to Boeing and Lockheed?

Both but not like Lockheed Martin or Boeing (who are going to actually BUILD the CEV).

Ah, so these guys are going to offer up a design, which Boeing and Lockheed will compete to build...or will they just throw in their two cents and say "this is what they should build", and Boeing and Lockheed'd designs will be based off of it.

What is the output of the Contract?... A design or support services to make the "right" call on the submissions from Boeing/Lockheed? i.e. the design auditors?

Come to think of it... what was the cost of the Apollo program from a design only point of view in todays $$$... and how does that compare with the costs now?
