Author Topic: The CRS-8 - BEAM me up, Elon - Party Thread  (Read 120675 times)

TBD until we vote a title. Most "likes" wins. Potentially the final specific party thread (until FH, etc.) Idea will be one mass party thread for what is likely to be a high launch cadence after CRS-8.

Anyhoo, I'm going to throw my hat into the ring on this one as there is a song that really works for this ;D (with a few minor changes - he to she (I'm sure Martin Gore will forgive me) - Angle is Dragon to Falcon 9):

"Never Let Me Down Again"

I'm taking a ride with my best friend. I hope she never lets me down again.
She knows where she's taking me, taking me where I want to be.
I'm taking a ride with my best friend.

We're flying high. We're watching the world pass us by. First Stage want to come down, to put her feet back down on the ground.

Never let me down again. (See the stars they're shining bright. Everything's alright tonight). Never let me down again.

If you can't be tangential to the topic in a party thread, where can you be, eh?  That being the idea, I have no good ideas about the CRS-8 party thread title, but for the unified never-ending party thread for an increased launch cadence, can we just go simple and have:

"The NEXT! SpaceX Party Thread"

And now back to your regularly scheduled naming.

Since naming the party thread seems to be a high proportion of the party, I think even the never ending party thread should be renamed for each pending mission.

I'd like to see it called the "Oh you shine so bright" party thread, seeing as how they've been selected (yet again) on CRS2 to supply cargo to the ISS, adding to the space station's brightness in the nighttime sky.

The CRS-8 Gr8 Launch R8 M8 Party Thread

(No, their launch rate this year hasn't been exactly what we were hoping for, but it's still pretty superb, plus we've got many months to go)

It is all well and good to quote those things that made it past your confirmation bias that other people wrote, but this is a discussion board damnit! Let us know what you think! And why!

How about Return of The Dragon

I like this one, needs a Bruce Lee image Photoshopped onto the Dragon as well.

Chris, this goes to show you that we play no favorites in the critical party thread naming game.  Best name wins!
I liked yours, but I liked the other one better since it had a pun that incorporated a payload. Plus Star Trek...
Like who can resist a Star Trek reference.  ::)

Going to be humming the Star Trek theme the rest of the day...
