Hongyan (鴻雁) is the CASC 300+ satellite constellation, while Hongyun (虹云) is CASIC's 156-satellite LEO comms project. Seems this launch is the latter, if the news is correct (Hongyun on a CZ-11, Dec 21).

It is unfortunate that the 2 names sounds very similar in Mandarin when their meanings are very much unrelated: Hongyan means "Big Geese" while Hongyun means "Rainbow Clouds". $:-\$

The strange thing is that CASIC is launching its own test satellite on its direct competitor's rocket (maybe originally planned on the KZ-11?) - think OneWeb launching on Falcon 9!

Nothing new has been reported for this launch (even one of the sources that gave the Dec. 21 launch date seems unsure if this is going on).
Launch time still unknown.
No NOTAMs.
No official reports from CASIC/CAST/CALT/......
