Translation - Chad == Pete Davidson. Hopefully he will not have to be a real hero!

My issue with New Shepard is: What happens if the cabin decompresses [perhaps a bad door seal, or something]... as  I am reminded of Soyuz 11...

How do they protect the crew against this scenario?

Blue Origin's 20th flight of New Shepard has shifted to Tuesday, March 29. Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission. We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days.

There are oxygen masks for each person in the capsule in case of loss of cabin pressure.

Also, the New Shepard's capsule's hatch opens inward. The air pressure inside the capsule seals the door against the wall of the cabin during ascent, so a bad door seal is very unlikely.

In any event, if something does happen to cause loss of cabin pressure, they would immediately abort the flight and get the crew to the ground and open the hatch as soon as possible.

Thatís too bad. Best wishes to Davidson, though.

I think Blue booted him. They are SUPER paranoid about managing their PR, and with the Kanye stuff they wouldn't want him anymore.

He's an eccentric passenger... but did he pay up? Seems to be a really hard business model offering a HUGE ticket price AND vetting for sparkling clean passengers.

He was the only guest on the flight, the other five are all paying customers. If another guest flyer is not picked in his place, then this will become the first all-paying customer flight. Perhaps the first ever in totality in spaceflight history.

He was replaced with a Blue employee

Yes, that has been known for several days now. Gary Lai took his place. And it is fitting that Lai gets to go on a flight given how much his work and his team have put into making New Shepard such a great success so far.

It's been 7 years since the first flight and they still have massive unplanned holds on every launch. The host says "[Unplanned] Holds are, of course, a completely normal part of our launch process."
