Launch carried five satellites.
https://m.weibo.cn/status/4584918602482491?
The first flight test of the Long March 8 carrier rocket was a complete success.
Long March 8 carrier rocket fully inherited the Long March 5, Long March 7 carrier rocket technical achievements, the use of non-toxic non-polluting propellant, core first-stage diameter of 3.35 meters, core second-stage diameter of 3 meters, rectifier diameter of 4.2 meters, bundled with 2 diameter 2.25 meters booster, a total length of about 50.3 meters, take-off mass of about 356 tons, 700 km solar synchronous orbit carrying capacity is not less than 4.5 tons, filling the gap of China's solar synchronous orbit 3 tons to 4.5 tons of carrying capacity, to accelerate the upgrading of launch vehicles is of great significance, will be with the Long March 5, Long March 6, Long March 7 and other non-toxic non-polluting launch vehicles, constitute a large, medium and small layout reasonable new generation of launch vehicle spectrum.
The first flight of the Long March 8 carrier rocket carried five experimental satellites accurately into the predetermined orbit, the relevant satellite payload will be microwave imaging and other technologies in orbit verification, space science and remote sensing, communications technology testing and applications.
The Long March 8 launch vehicle project was approved and implemented by the National Space Administration in 2017, and the China Launch Vehicle Technology Research Institute, which is part of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., has developed the launch vehicle system, and the China Satellite Launch Measurement and Control System Department is responsible for the implementation of the flight test organization. The mission was the 356th launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles. (Photo: Yang Haipeng) - Our Space #
