Here are couple of shots around 1962. The CM again was expected to land on the moon judging from the periscopes.

This one is interesting, look at how large the interior of the CM was expected to be.

I love these illustrations and photos!  The direct CM looks similar in size to Orion, maybe a tad smaller.  If I come across anything relevant, I'll try to contribute some content to this thread.
