What's the deal with STS-118?
« on: 12/12/2005 01:56 pm »
NASA Watch reported the following a few days ago:

"Also under discussion is moving the STS-120 (Node 2) mission to the STS-118 slot however that decision probably won't be made until mid-January 2006."

What is that supposed to mean? No S5 spacer? No S6 PV module on the following flight? There was some discussion regarding elements to be deleted from the assembly sequence ...

Regarding the STS-118 crew: What a blow! Barbara Morgan has had to wait so long -- two decades! What do You think? Will the current STS-118 crew launch the node module -- or will Jim Halsell and the remainder of the original STS-120 crew get to fly the new STS-118?
