Saturn IB-F?
« on: 01/16/2018 08:52 PM »
I was reading up on the S-500F test vehicle, and it was mentioned that the third stage of it was used for doing pad checkouts at LC-34 and LC-37. Are there any pics of this? Any info on it?

Thanks!

They had planned to use this stage at both LC 34 and 37, but they only ended up using it at 34.  Of course it also rolled out to LC 39A later as part of SA-500F.  I'm not sure I've seen any images of that particular Saturn IB stack (S-IV-200/500F was stacked atop the S-IB-1 flight stage for the testing during August 1965), but they may exist.
