Was odd that part way through the animation the webcast went back to the pad, then just ended. Waiting for updates, but doesn't give you a good feeling. Hope we hear something positive soon!

HD video Soyuz-2.1a launch with Kanopus-V №3 & Kanopus-V №4

I'm uploading a cropped version of this video at booster separation to YouTube.  I'll have the link in a few minutes.

Updated: YouTube was being bad tonight, so I uploaded to Vimeo instead.

I've reviewed a previous Soyuz from this launch facility same camera angle.  Unfortunately, cloud cover blocks the view at booster separation.  I've also review launch at Baikonur and I"m able to see the booster separation but the camera angle, equipment could have been different.

Boy, this thread sure went quiet.  :-\

Update, I just realized the last launch from this launch site was a failure and the launch video abruptly ended after Second stage separation.

I actually think the boosters separating were actually seen in the video above - the "puff of smoke" from the separation were clearly seen and I think I can even make out one of the separated boosters. The camera zoom was probably too small to show the details.

Here's that "puff of smoke" and what looks like two of the separated boosters. Seems like the press release is saying that this is a successful launch, although Fregate still has to complete its mission. A first stage separation failure would have likely sent the payloads into the drink. Perhaps we didn't see the separation clearly due to less zoom on the camera.

"ROSKOSMOS. LV "SOYUZ-2.1A" WITH SC "KANOPUS-B" No. 3 AND 4 STARTS FROM COSMODROME EAST
02/01/2018 05:18

On February 1, 2018, a space rocket successfully launched from the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle, the Fregat upper stage, Kanopus-V space probes №3 and 4, and nine American and German small spacecraft passing load. This was the third launch from the first Russian civilian cosmodrome EASTERN.

In 8 minutes 48 seconds after the start, the staffing of the head unit from the third stage of the carrier rocket and the Fregat upper stage proceeded to fulfill the flight task for the delivery of spacecraft to the calculated orbits. The overclocking unit will have to "fly" the spacecraft in three orbits due to seven inclusions of the orientation engines and the propulsion system and take a course to enter the Earth's atmosphere. After completing the flight program, the Fregat upper stage will be flooded in the non-navigable region of the Pacific Ocean. The input of the accelerating unit into the atmosphere of the planet is planned at an altitude of 100 km approximately at 10:34 Moscow time.

The separation of the spacecraft of the main load "Canopus-B" No. 3 and 4 is planned one hour after the launch. "

Roscosmos have reported that the two Kanopus-V satellites have separated into their planned orbits: https://www.roscosmos.ru/24634/

The secondary payloads are still in transit to their separation orbits.

Google translation below. Other payloads to separate from 4:33 to 4:50 UTC.

"ROSKOSMOS. SPACE APPLIANCES "KANOPUS-B" No. 3 AND No. 4 ARE REDUCED FOR DESIGN ORBITS
02/01/2018 06:51

On February 1, 2018, one hour after the start of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle, the Fregat upper stage brought the main payload - the space probes of the Earth's remote sensing "Canopus-B" No. 3 and No. 4 to the calculated orbits. Separation of space vehicles passed regularly at 6:06 Moscow time and 6:12 Moscow time on the solar-synchronous circum-circular orbits.

After the separation of the spacecraft "Kanopus-V" No. 3 and 4 from the upper stage, the specialists of the Main Operational Control Group at the Mission Control Center (MCC) began to control their flight. In the near future, the satellites will begin to work as part of the space complex "Kanopus-V" in conjunction with the already launched into the orbit of the spacecraft "Canopus-B" No. 1 and spacecraft "Canopus-V-IC".

Meanwhile, the "Fregat" upper stage continues to fulfill the flight task of the launch campaign. He will deliver to the target orbits nine American and German small spacecraft S-Net, Lemur and D-Star One, launched as a passing payload under the contracts of OAO Glavkosmos. Separation of small space vehicles is scheduled from 07:33 Moscow time to 07:50 Moscow time."

So thus we wait for Orbital data from Space Track and/or the owners to announce that they have contact with their satellites?
