Seems to be about the radio system of Lunokhod and Luna. Pity the images are missing.

speaking of Lunokhod 2, I remember that the solar panel lid of the rover was opened several times while on course for the Moon and I think I saw some publications of the 1970s suggesting that this indicated that there were some kind of hardware problem.
was this ever clarified?

Ok, so Richard Garriott bought Lunokhod 2 in a 1993 auction(!)

And... it happens to be owned by... ME! So, if you have any desire to take it out for a spin, first get yourself to the moon, then text me, I am sure we can work out a deal. You will likely need to bring jumper cables and a took kit.

On the moon. Literally. Look at the Wikipedia entry for Lunokhod 2 and at the very bottom, it will note it was sold to me in about 96.
