March 25 - Soyuz TMA-14 launch [Padalka, Barratt, tourist]
March 27 - Soyuz TMA-14 docking (to Zvezda)
April 5 - Soyuz TMA-13 undocking (from Zarya) and landing [Lonchakov, Fincke, tourist]

I note that as of today, Space Adventures still has not announced the identity of the "Spaceflight Participant" (ie tourist) to be flown on Soyuz TMA-14. From previous flights, the participant usually trains for about one year before the flight. At present, only Nik Halik is conducting such training, as back-up for Richard Garriott flying on Soyuz TMA-13.

Do I take it then that only Nik Halik is a possible candidate for the Soyuz TMA-14 launch? If he is unable/unwilling to sign up for the full mission, will the flight then launch with only 2 ISS crew or is there another back-up hiding in the wings somewhere?

According to ISS On-Orbit Status 06/27/08, Progress M-64 undocking may move to August 30 and ATV-1 undocking - to September 25.

I believe this is the first time a TMA will be relocated twice at the ISS with TMA-14 first moving from Zvezda to Zarya and then from Zarya to MRM-2

No, the first was Soyuz TMA-7 (November 18, 2005 and March 20, 2006), and then Soyuz TMA-9 (October 10, 2006 and March 29, 2007).

Will it remain at Zvezda zenith?

Yes, for ever.

Awesome news! First Australian citizen to fly in space! (BTW I'm an Aussie expat).

What about Gruzdev?
How many chances does he have to fly in the next future?

According to ISS On-Orbit Status 07/03/08, the next reboost of ISS orbit is postponed from July 18 to July 23. ATV-1 undocking is scheduled for September 5, but the deorbit burn will be approximately on September 25 for "nighttime reentry/observation".

If these dates hold, the undocking of Progress M-65 would occur while STS-126 is still attached to ISS. I don't think a visiting vehicle has ever departed from ISS while a Shuttle is docked.

If this happens, we should get a very different view of Progress departing from ISS.

No news about Mr. Gruzdev. Neither is there any official announcement from Space Adventures on Nik Halik.

None of this surprises me. Remember that Russians are expert chess players and thus skilled at protracted negotiations such as those concerning "tourist" flights on the ISS.

Knowing this site, anik's information is usually ahead of the game and I don't think my celebration is premature.

If Gruzdev is launched on TMA-16 and comes home on TMA-14, that means that there will be no seat available for a third ISS crew member to stay will Williams and Suraev. So there will be a 5 person crew until TMA-18 arrives replacing TMA-16...

It would be logical to launch someone on STS-129 to replace Thirsk and have them anding on TMA-16.

P.S I have updated the ISS crew assignments chart

There has really been quite a lot of changing back and forth with the ATV reboosts and I wonder why. The basic factors determining when they occur has to do with visiting vehicles and spacewalks and that sort of basic scheduling, but a lot of changes are occurring without any obvious reason, from where I'm sitting.
I guess the first changes was due to the extra fuel available relative to the original planning. Then maybe after the first couple reboosts, confidence in the ability to sustain long burns increased and that made it possible to consolidate two burns into one?

I have made a scheme showing more visually the last information about ISS crewing.  Between brackets, the backup crew.
See attached document.
Some of the dates, spacecrafts (TMA-xxM or TMA-old) and, I suppose, astro/cosmonauts will change.
Hope you like it.  :)
Please feel free to post corrections.
Regards.

Looks great...one question, however.
For the March 2010 flight, you show Soyuz TMA 01M.
Shouldn't that be Soyuz TMA 18?

I have read that Kaleri will command the first spacecraft of the new series...
But today I don't know for sure the sequence of how they launch the new series and the (possible?) remaining stock of TMA series...  Remember what happened with Soyuz and Soyuz-T
