Blank User Profile location
« on: 04/03/2007 03:11 am »
If this is not in the right location I am sorry.

Is it to much to ask that something get put into the location form where the poster resides.

It sure would make it easier to form groups to maybe ever skype a conversation or two with some one that is local to one another in such attempts.

Speaking of which I am from NH, USA.

From a small hick town, unemployed and still trying to make a difference.

I want space to become a household word to talk about and not to ignore.

To dream the dream of going to space someday for real.

I'm not telling you where I live................D'oh! ;)

It's totally up to the user. Sure, I agree, it would be cool to know, but it's down to the personal preference of the user.

Yes, going to the trouble of clicking on someone's profile just to find nothing there is a bit annoying! It is interesting to see where people come from, and what their interests are.

Ya I see your point Chris and Suzy with regards to this.

So why do I make this request, to find out if you the visiter to Nasa Spaceflight's forum has any interest in joining me in an effort to create a MarsDrive Branch office in the state of NH. This may once enough join the efforts of volunteering could lead to a real business.

I will send more details of what I have in mind if you think you are interested.

These are some of the other locations that are on for MarsDrive list:
Calgary, Canada
Kansas City, Mo
Poughkeepsie, NY

We have existing offices in
Austin, TX
Melbourne, AUSTRAILIA

I'd be happy for you to start a new thread on this and see if that draws out some people in those areas. When I get time (I'm working a really big story for next week - thus snowed under right now) I'll check our google analytics stats, which can round down to actual cities on visitor locations - and send you a PM to give you an idea of potential.

Reminds me of an Eddie Izzard bit where he describes the pilgrims' first landing in America:

"We landed in Plymouth?  We've just come from Plymouth!  We've gone around in circles... everyone back on the bus."

As for me, Illinois is pretty far from any of our aerospace centers.  So I sit and read these threads filled with envy at those who are much closer to them, or who get to visit.
