There is another launch being prepared at Jiuquan at the same time they are countingdown for the SZ-8 launch. Maybe this is the Shiyan Weixing-4 and Chuang Xin-3, or the YaoGan Weixing-13 launch.
I am in email contact with one of the German team members at JSLC, who prepare the SIMBOX for SZ-8. I asked if anything is visible of launch preparations at pad 603. He answered that the pad is still empty.

I suppose that the launcher will still be inside the integration building, but I'm not sure.

Hmm this is becoming more and more interesting: in this article the project manager of the Compass navigation system says that there will only be one more launch for the program this year in December (from the hints from the post above, that would most probably be the Compass-IGSO-5 launch by a LM-3A), with 6 more satellites going up in 2012. Now where do I find 12 more satellites and 7 more rockets that will go up this year?  ::)

I'm not seeing how, but this poster (an "insider", so as to speak) seems to imply that the launch of FY-2F might happen within this year!  :o Maybe the launch schedule at Xichang for the next two months look like this:

~December 1: Compass-IGSO 5 (LM-3A) (LC-3)
~December 15: Nigcomsat-1R (LM-3B) (LC-2)
~December 30: FY-2F (LM-3A) (LC-3)
~January 15: Compass-GEO 5 (LM-3C) (LC-2)

...but I am skeptical about this. If true, however, this fits with the next flight from Taiyuan being the ZY-1-02C launch (NET mid-December, since the satellite only left the factory on October 28th), and only one more YG launch is scheduled for this year.

Oh and BTW, it looks like there will be three launches in January, one from each launch site. I am betting that the one from Jiuquan is either HJ-1C or SJ-11-05, but this is nothing more than an uneducated guess...  ::)

OK, some updates:

1. The Compass-IGSO 5 launch has been officially confirmed for December 1st (judging from the past launch times, I would even say November 30th GMT).
2. FY-2F could be launched in January. (Edit: I believe it will be launched by mid January, since the YW-6 tracking ship (currently docked at Auckland for crew and supplies replenishment) will be used to track the launch of "a meteorological satellite" after leaving New Zealand)

The problem, of course, is the launch schedule from TSLC....  ::)

Edit: Some breaking news:
1. NO more orbital launches from JSLC in 2011. (so no LM-4C this year)
2. Looks like there's people from CALT working in TSLC, so there should be a LM-2C launch from there soon (just heard that it might go in EARLY December!).
3. There will be less than 20 orbital launch attempts this year. (18-19, maybe?)

BREAKING NEWS: Looks like YG-13 could be launched within the next 2-3 days from TSLC on a Long March 2C rocket. Since this spacecraft is rumored to be the replacement for YG-6 (launched April 2009), I would guess the launch time to be around 03:00 UTC (YG-6 was launched at 02:55 UTC).
