Wow, China seems to be launching satellites at the same rate as the Americans eating pizzas...  :o

I suppose that this can also be the SW-4 and CX-3 launch?

That's crazy. Three launches in the space of less than six days.

Don't worry Chris. According to a press release by CALT posted on August 15, the "battle of launches for the remaining parts of the year" has begun, at the frequency of one every ten days. Since the Chinese are aiming for 20 launches this year, with 12 still to go, they will have to do better than that to reach the intended target.
So yeah, the Chinese are crazy. But they have enough missions and payloads to act crazy, unlike the Americans...  ;D

Be thankful that the old Soviet Union isn't continuing at ~100 launches a year!!   (Ah, those were the days.)

<OT mode> Which year did that happen? Late 60's? (1967 saw 172 successful launches around the world (well, only the Americans and the Soviets), more than any other year, so...) </OT mode>

At its peak in the 1980s, the Soviet Union was having 90-100 launches per year.   Much more than the rest of the world put together.

The CZ-2C failure may have completely busted the launch schedule for the remaining months of 2011: A certain member on the 9ifly aerospace forum said he has a friend working at the tracking station at Weinan (in Shannxi province), who told him that the launch of Tiangong-1 has been put off until NET October. Another member reported that China's return to flight would used the CZ-2D (perhaps with Shiyan Weixing-4?). Note that these are merely rumors and should be taken with a pinch of salt...

If there are going to be significant launch delays, I hope they don't affect the 2025 manned lunar landing ................... :-)   It would be a good way to celebrate by 75th!!

Am I understanding this correctly, these two are planned to go up this year?

Ziyuan 3
资源三号

CBERS-02C
中巴地球资源卫星02C星

Yes. But is not a CBERS satellite. Brazilian sources sat that the next CBERS will be launch in 2012, so to this one we should call it ZY-1 Zi Yuan-1 (2C).

According to this news http://www.jornalfloripa.com.br/cienciaevida/index1.php?pg=verjornalfloripa&id=1439 (in Portuguese), China and Brazil have agreed to launch CBERS-3 in November 2012 and CBERS-4 in August 2014.
