Mission audio has finally returned consistently to the UStream ISS feed...  EVA preps are underway with Kate and Ike talking about waist tethers.  The ones on orbit are showing their age, and the crew is choosing the best available.  Replacements are expected on Cygnus.

On Sunday, Feb. 28, NASA Astronauts Kate Rubins and Victor Glover will step out of the space station to begin assembling and installing modification kits required for upcoming solar array upgrades. The current solar arrays are functioning well, but have begun to show signs of degradation, as expected, as they were designed for a 15-year service life. The first pair of solar arrays were deployed in December 2000 and have been powering the station for more than 20 years. Later this year, the new solar arrays will be positioned in front of six of the current arrays, increasing the station’s total available power from 160 kilowatts to up to 215 kilowatts. Rubins will be extravehicular crew member 1 (EV 1) wearing red stripes. Glover will be extravehicular crew member 2 (EV 2) and wear a suit with no stripes. This spacewalk will be the third of Rubins’ career. Glover has conducted two spacewalks as part of this expedition, making the spacewalk on Feb. 28 the third in his career. It will be the 235th in the history of station assembly, maintenance, and upgrades. Live coverage of the Sunday, Feb. 28, spacewalk will air on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website at 4:30 a.m. EST, with the crew members scheduled to exit the station’s Quest airlock about 6:00 a.m. EST.

The crew encountered several issues during EMU fit check and check-out.  Neither was completed, additional trouble shooting is necessary, and the ground is scrambling to reorder schedule (Soichi and Kate didn't eat lunch) and still support Sunday's planned EVA

Kate's EMU needs 1.5 hours of trouble shooting.  Major re-planning of the schedule for tomorrow and maybe the rest of the week is underway

Interesting. Sounds like they're done with 3006 then (at least for the time being), which would make sense as it's seen 18 EVAs since its last refurb. (3008 logged a whopping 26 before getting sent home on SpX-21, if I'm counting correctly, but that seems to have been exceptional. By contrast, 3003, the other one rotated out in the recent past, was sent home after 18.)

I suppose 3006 will get rotated into on-station storage as a spare and then exchanged for a fresh one on an upcoming Dragon flight, probably SpX-22.

That will leave 3004, which currently has 14 EVAs on the odometer, as the only remaining one on-station that isn't recently "fresh", and I wouldn't be surprised if they swap it out too in the near future (SpX-23 perhaps?) to complete the rotation cycle. 3009 is nearly "new" (Glover's 2 recent EVAs are the only ones on it since refurb), and 3015 is brand-new having gone up on SpX-21.

At the rate they've been using them, a set of 4 nearly-"new" EMUs on station may should be enough to hold out until they start phasing in the xEMUs a couple years from now. They might put one or two of them through another refurb cycle to avoid being caught up a creek without a paddle if the xEMU development program experiences any delays (as such things typically do).
