Probably need to get this back to SpaceXey things now. Although it's providing a good example as to why we'll never have on of those "Free Space" areas, like the one that pretty much killed space.com's old messageboard.
Management killed that forum.  $$$ over ethics.  It wasn't a forum to them but bits and bytes more or less aligned with business plan for main space.com website.

What a great way to spend Thanksgiving!  If the launch is successful, Butterball is a great nickname for v1.1, else I fear it will be dubbed the Turkey.

Last night I dreamed about the launch. It blew up and I laughed maniacally. Wonder what that means.

Maybe you just have issues with your own "rocket" blowing up when its not supposed to  ;D

Thanks! Enjoy your beverages! :) Happy to be here with space family, hopefully someday I can afford to join L2.
Does anyone know when SpaceX will start launching test landing gears or ballast?

Elon claimed after the last flight that CRS-3 (F9 flight 10) in February would fly with legs.

Your Top of The Pops!!! Just got in, Messy Weather Outside, and this is just the medicine!!! Thx Joffan... Now, for a quick quiz, do you remember the British Show that it was from ;-)

edit - dang they gave it away on the label ;D

OK, if you want old-ish music from British TV, which program had this contemplative little piece, "Left Bank Two" by the Noveltones?

<snip>

The answer is not Little Big Planet :D

(... and I think we need some quiet contemplation as we wait patiently for the next launch opportunity :) )

Vision On.  Very nice to hear that again.  Pat Keysell was kind of fit, too.  Never seemed to know what to do with her hands, though.

I have my F9 T-shirt with distressed logo on, and my SpaceX track top as it's bloody freezing.  So a perfect launch is guaranteed.

Three states ban stores to be open on Thanksgiving.
Pizza restaurant manager refuses to open on Thanksgiving against corporate order.
Franchise store owner refuses to open on Thanksgiving against corporate order.
It has been reported that it is only a few percentage that actually shop on Thanksgiving ( they would have shop on Black Friday anyway, no sales lost ).
They have thanks for what they have been given and family values.

It was said SpaceX was not going to be able to launch Tuesday or Wednesday so the launch would not add to the already busy holiday air traffic congestion for the airlines.

So as this launch is already way behind schedule they could have waited a little longer and not attempt a launch on Thanksgiving.

So as they are scheduled to try and launch today then it better launch successfully. It will be a shame to all the workers missing out time with Family and Friends if this is not a successful launch.

On the party thread as not to disrupt the other threads on this launch. ( All U.S. launches should to the best of their ability ( available launch windows ) avoid launch attempts on major U.S. holidays )

This is not against SpaceX having successful launches ( always want a successful launch and delivery of payload(s) ). It's is however against their actions, lack of Family valued time together.

I am not proud of this...  :)

Wishing SpaceX the best Thanksgiving there can be, and hoping to see F9R-1 fly in time for Christmas.
I love the holidays this year.

(Modified - I like the eyeball better this way)
That's brilliant!  ;D
I hope you will not stop on this and hopefully SpaceX will make holiday launches traditional.
BTW, they have good chance on next two missions:
Thaicom 8 - on Christmas (or New Year); and CRS-3 - on Valentine's Day.
So, could you make logo drafts for these - C9 and V9 ?

It's like a football game. And thanksgiving is about celebrating the frontier. So it's appropriate that they are launching today. And would it be any better if they had to fly home then fly back early tomorrow morning? Better to get the bird in the air.

Go SpaceX, go Orbital!

"Vision On" was targeted at hearing-impaired kids - Pat was probably signing (BSL) what was going on.  (And the show featured "Sylveste McCoy" - who later added an "r" to his stage first name and became the Seventh Doctor!)

(And "Go ButterBall!!")
