We are pleased to confirm that we have entered into an agreement with @NewSpaceIndia, part of the Indian Space Research Organisation (@isro), that will help us to complete our satellite launch programme.

The first launch is anticipated later this year.

OneWeb contracts 2 launches w/ @isro commercial arm NSIL India, at least 1 w/ heavy-lift GSLV. First to occur this yr. OneWeb looking to replace 5-6 Arianespace Russian Soyuz launches now cancelled. Already booked 1 w/ SpaceX.

Can someone confirm it's 2 x GSLV Mk III launches?

TOI In a first, GSLV-Mk3 to be used for commercial launch, April 26
Also from the article: Roughly 30 satellites vs. 6-7 aboard PSLV (assuming that's PSLV-XL).

Will they use the GSLV originally assigned to Chandrayaan-3?

First time:
First launch of a GSLV variant not in the GTO direction, different launch azimuth.
First cluster launch, with a long mission duration for the upper stage.
One or two ignitions of the upper stage, is not known yet?

No information available yet. An older article suggests around 30 satellites per launch on GSLV Mk3: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/science/in-a-first-gslv-mk3-will-be-used-for-commercial-mission-nsil-to-launch-oneweb-satellites/articleshow/91055331.cms

Quote
The source, while pointing out that a GSLV-Mk3 can put into orbit many more OneWeb-class of satellites (roughly around 30) in one launch compared to the PSLV (roughly around 6-7), said: “...But the exact number of OneWeb satellites the first Mk-3 mission will carry will be firmed up at a later stage.”

Nice to see the GSLV being used to launch multiple satellites, I was wondering when that was going to take place :) Pardon the naivete, but these will all be launched in a geo-synchronous orbit, right? I think it will be a milestone of sorts, being a first.

As it says above these are not going to a geosynchronous orbit.

One Web is a LEO communications/internet constellation, so, no GEO.

Thanks, so the weight/mass of these 30 odd satellites will require a GSLV. And into a higher polar orbit than what the PSLV launches into.

Does anyone know how ISRO managed to get two extra GSLVs for OneWeb on such short notice? Were they able to manufacture them, or did some other launch(es) have to be delayed because of OneWeb?

Bump ISRO payloads off of them to later launches.
