Huge apologies for that. We've had a really good run of the site being up and through SpaceX launches (with some mitigation) etc. Then that happens.

Chris,

No need for apologies!  You run one of the best sites of it's type on the internet.  The amount of free info that your site provides is astounding, as is the intellectual conversations I have had in the past.  having a short outage from time to time is completely understandable.
My God!  It's full of universes!

Well there you go folks. I can never complain about anything when we've got members like the above. I'd actually understand if people were angry about such things (I know I was!), but I'm pretty much blessed by this membership.

Means a lot, really it does.

(PS Everything has been stable since, so that's good).

We know we're wonderful. We can't help it.
I go to many, many sites for purchases, research and goofing off when I'm suppose to be doing the other stuff. This has always been the most consistently reliable site I know. I wish you'd give seminars on keeping your hosts in line.

The site was up when I went to bed last night.
It was up when I got up this morning.

If I didn't see it, the outage didn't happen ;)

Add a voice to the chorus... I was in withdrawal!

Do we need to throw money?  ;D

In other news: SLS delay caught back up, James Webb Space Telescope now ahead of schedule, and SpaceX to launch AsiaSat 6 tonight ;).

You see, an outage is not necessarily a bad thing...

Speaking of stuff happening, I was asked to login before accessing the advanced concepts thread on EMdrive, anybody else seeing anything unusual?

The forum was restricted to logged in members because the servers where hammered due to the Commercial Crew anouncments; ie not logged in members where blocked out to ease the load

Yeah, sorry about that. I saw the servers getting hammered so took the action to avoid it falling over.

REALLY a lot of people hitting the site. Still are!

No problem with responsiveness of the site at this end.

Cheers, Martin

In the latest update to the security of the servers, the host notes they will be looking to install a new update and reboot the servers sometime today.

This may result in a short period of outage for the site.

The host is working a datacenter at a time and we're near the bottom of the list, so we think it will (hopefully) be in the dead of night when this happens.

If our servers enter this period and I'm awake, I'll provide updates on @NASASpaceflight as to when we're back.

They took 60 minutes each to complete the first two datacenter security updates, so that's what it looks like it'll be for our downtime. The good news is it does look like they are going down the list, so our turn in Dallas shouldn't be for another five to six hours, which isn't all that busy a time of day for us.

Glad there's no SpaceX launch!

It's worked out pretty good for us, site gets quiet at that time.
