Home made rocket
« on: 11/24/2018 09:06 pm »
Hello, im searching some help to be able to lunch a rocket from one house to other 1031m far, and 60m under the first house(because are on a hillside).
I want to make all the calculations, but i need to now how many thrust made a solid state fuel generate.

If the launch wil be a parabolic shot (with no air resistence), i will need a initial speed of 360km/h ,but i think is too much for a rocket for less than 5kg
(also i test the 3Ddesing on a air Wind tunnel and have a  drag coeficent of 0.27)

Any advices or help please text me back ;D ;D

(Sorry for my english ,im spanish)

Advice: Don't launch a rocket from one house to another.
Please
It's too dangerous.
And in many places illegal.
For good reasons
What kind of wastrels would dump a perfectly good booster in the ocean after just one use?

Hi Nacharov, first off, never ever ever launch a rocket without a parachute or something that will prevent it from falling at high velocity. Any rocket needs to have a deployment charge to eject the parachute.
Otherwise it could kill someone,  which has happened before.

Also firing it off to your friends (I hope it's your friend) is a no-no.

Best way to learn safe rocketry is to buy an Estes model rocket kit, it has everything you need to learn, including guidelines from the North American Rocketry association. I am not sure of the Spanish equivalent.

Thanks for the advice of the parachet i dont think about the landing, and ofcourse  I dont want to fire it to hit my friend we want to set a litel arduino to mesure the speed high and some test of avionics at real time.
I will research for a way to open a parachute.(If I use the parachute i will need to fire a bit near to the landing place to land at the same spot I think)
I will research about rocket kits on Spain

I don't know enough Spanish to search for the pertinent regulations (and wouldn't be able to read them even if I did), but I believe the regulations in the US prohibit high-powered amateur rocketry (anything higher than G-class motors) within 1500 feet of a house. There are also limits on altitude, etc. I would assume Spain/the EU have similar regulations.

Even if you find out what you want to do is technically legal, you could be held legally liable for any damage caused by an out-of-control rocket. You would definitely want to speak with your homeowners/renters (or equivalent) insurance company before trying something like this.
