Fire at SpaceX Port Canaveral

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. - Brevard County Fire Rescue is assisting Canaveral Fire Rescue with a fire at a SpaceX building on Port Canaveral, officials said.

The fire was reported on the roof of the building at Magellan and Grouper roads shortly before 4 p.m.

Brevard County Fire Rescued confirmed to Eyewitness News that they have at four fire engines, one ladder truck, three ambulances and a district supervior on the scene.

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. - Brevard County Fire Rescue assisted Canaveral Fire Rescue with a fire at a SpaceX building on Port Canaveral, officials said.

A person driving in the area saw flames coming from the roof of the building at Magellan and Grouper roads shortly before 5 p.m., said Assistant Fire Chief for Canaveral Fire Rescue Chris Quinones.

Brevard County Fire Rescued confirmed to Eyewitness News that they had four fire engines, one ladder truck, three ambulances and a district supervisor on the scene.

Officials confirmed there is construction at the building and roofing materials caught fire.

The fire was put out quickly. The cause is under investigation.

No one was injured, however a firefighter was taken to the hospital for possible heat exhaustion.

You mean like a parapet wall / false front that extends above the actual roof so we are unable to see the fire damage?

If they were doing a controlled burn south of the Cape, it could have simply been some burnin g debris from that.

I'm familiar with prescribed burns. They aren't done when there is a lot of extra fuel, that has to be cleared first. They're mostly grass fires. They burn fast and don't produce the kind of large embers a forest fire does where whole trees are burning up.
Also, prescribed burn crews are very sensitive to wind speed and direction.
Seems like a coincidence to me.
