SKY Perfect JSAT and SpaceX for the future of space communication! Signing of Launch Contract for Next-Generation Satellites "JSAT-31" and "JSAT-32"QuoteThree next-generation satellites, including the Superbird-9, which has already signed a contract, are scheduled to be launched sequentially from 2027.
Three next-generation satellites, including the Superbird-9, which has already signed a contract, are scheduled to be launched sequentially from 2027.
"Superbird-9" is scheduled to be launched in 2024 aboard SpaceX's heavy-duty rocket, "Starship."
Berte said the company has booked a slot on SpaceX’s Bandwagon-7 rideshare mission launching in early 2028. Most of the satellite will be built in-house.
According to the space agency’s internal schedule, the next Dragon supply mission, CRS-34, is moving forward one month from June 2026 to May. And the next Dragon supply mission after this, CRS-35, has been advanced three months from November to August.
Will there be a Falcon 9 launch pause for Christmas and New Year's Day? Or merely confining launches to the overnight hours on the biggest air travel days?
Charles Boyer@TheOldManParAfter Tuesday morning's launch, there will only be 10 Atlas V's left, and six of those are devoted to Starliner. The other four are Amazon Leo launches.Once gone, Falcon 9 and SLS will be the only human-rated US launch systems.

While we originally set out for 170, we actually revised the manifest to 165 this summer based on business and manifest needs. We have two more Falcon launches to go in 2025 for extra credit for a total of 1-6-7 🤣! Worth noting that SL6-99 was also our last single stick from 39A for some time as we put full focus on Falcon Heavy launches and ramping Starship from the Cape!

SDA-SN-26-0002 announced an intent to Sole Source an extension of support under contract number FA240125C0001 for satellite processing and integration services via two, sole-source modifications. Two sole-source modifications were awarded to SpaceX under FA240125C0001: modification P00002 was awarded on December 18, 2025 and modification P00003 was awarded on March 5, 2026. Collectively, these modifications: (1) extended the period of performance by 1 year in the amount of $15,252,220.87, and added an unexecuted Option year in the amount of $15,252,220.87. Unexpended funding in the amount of $8,093,174.41 was re-aligned from the Basic Award (PoP ending 12/31/2025) to CY2026, therefore only $6,600,000 was obligated to the contract to fund CY2026. At this time, the total funded award amount is $17,252,220.87.
These services will provide a satellite processing facility that can accommodate up to 21 satellites and dispenser stack, post transport functional testing as required, and mechanical and electrical mates to the dispenser hardware.SpaceX will provide the facility to use for satellite processing activities needed to prepare each satellite for integration to the launch vehicle upper stage and encapsulation within the payload fairing. The facility will provide space, cranes, electrical power, and other resources to prepare the satellites for launch. SpaceX was able to confirm availability on SDA's schedule.[...]Discussions were had with three of the four commercial processing facilities located on Vandenberg USSF base: 1. Astrotech on North base (no schedule availability due to high demand), 2. L3H IPF at SLC-6 (not available in the required timeline due to modifications), 3. SpaceX at SLC-4 PPF (SpaceX is no longer using this facility for SV processing due to its Bldg 398 solution), and 4. SpaceX at Bldg 398 (SpaceX Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition would reserve space for SDA SV processing and, if needed, SDA could have 1 or 2 bays to increase launch tempo).
