Very promising for British human spaceflight.

Link to the slides from the presentation at the UK Space Conference - http://www.ukspace2015.co.uk/presentations/39

and the BBC article with some additional information - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-33606458

On weekends, they should charge the public to be able to dive in it - I'd happily pay for an "EVA experience"!

Well, the artist's conception there has low and high diving boards, so why not?  In fact, the diving boards and lack of any space hardware in the pool made me wonder if the illustration actually went with the story...

There is a yellow crane at the deep end of the pool. It is unusual for swimming pools to have cranes but would make adding space hardware much simpler.

Somehow I'd forgotten about this project - which is surprising since I commented on it at the time! - but anyway, today I saw that the Blue Abyss project have released their first concept image of the pool complete with ISS mock-up (attached).

I really hope this great project goes ahead, just imagine what a great space outreach tool this could be, allowing kids and the general public to experience first-hand the process of planning and executing an EVA for themselves, as well as potentially making the UK a future center of excellence for commercial and governmental astronaut training and space environment simulation and research.

Great to hear this is moving forward! Changed the main title as it's now more specific.

Blue Abyss to be located at the former RAF Henlow (to close by 2020) in Bedfordshire.

After a few more years of no news, the BBC has a new article on Blue Abyss's plans to locate their facility in the Aerohub Enterprise Zone at Cornwall Airport (rather than RAF Henlow, Bedfordshire):
