"It’s its own unique chapter in the Stargate universe.”
Key messages in the video for me:1) We may see some old faces2) You do NOT need to have seen any Stargate series/movie before seeing this new series and still be able to enjoy/engage.This suggests a completely new main cast with cameos, and a start from scratch journey for the new cast (e.g. as with Ely).Aside: James Spader is free now after Blacklist has finished...
Would people say that Stargate is the same level of franchise as Trek is in the US?
I'll tune in, but given the state of Hollywood these days I'm not getting my hopes up.SG-1/DS9/B5 are the highest point of SF TV, it's all downhill from there and I don't think the trend will reverse any time soon. But I find I'm ok with that, 20 years ago I'd be jumping with joy for news like this, nowadays it's just "meh". Maybe it's just me getting old, but I think it's also because we're already living in a SF world. I mean we have humanoid robots, AI that can talk to us naturally, brain implants, and of course huge spaceships being built to colonize another planet. Witnessing the trial and tribulation of people working their ass off to push the tech forward for humanity is a much better show than anything Hollywood can think up.
Now bring back Babylon 5Will Teal’c be back?
