Let's Play Starfield (video game)
« on: 01/22/2025 02:34 pm »
This Bethesda game came out a year ago but I just got an Xbox Series X for Christmas so I'm finally able to play it.  Didn't see a thread for it.  Has anyone else played it?

A lot of it is typical Bethesda (Fallout, Skyrim) which I absolutely love.  But the spaceflight dogfighting is really fun and all the planets and moons to explore and survey.  I've barely even started on ship design or outpost building.  Still just exploring and doing quests.  I definitely need to cut down on the hording, my ship's cargo hold is constantly full.  And don't forget to equip your helmet.  "Is there air?  You don't know!"

Starfield is really addictive, especially if you like the style of Bethesda with its endless quests and the ability to just get stuck on exploring the world. I agree that space battles are unexpectedly lively there - you can feel the drive when you switch energy between systems and twist the shields to suit the situation. In this regard, Starfield is similar to new sites with bonuses: they give a huge scope for exploration, and you choose where to go. Recently I read about the offer new member register free 100 philippines, and it reminded me of the Starfield mechanics itself - when you get a starting boost, and then you decide how to use this resource. So the game does an excellent job of its task - giving a feeling of freedom and adventure.

It seems to me that the main thing here is not to rush, but to play at your own pace, because the game is designed for a long “life” in its world.

Congrats on finally jumping into Starfield! You're in for a treat, and that classic Bethesda immersion loop is spot on—it just swallows up your time!

The space combat is definitely a solid change of pace; it's a fun, arcade-style system with enough depth for shipbuilding and power management. As for the hoarding... yeah, you're not alone! The inventory struggle is real.

Pro-Tip on Cargo: There is a safe/storage box with unlimited storage in the basement of The Lodge (Constellation HQ) in New Atlantis! It's a lifesaver for all those resources.

Also, if you're keeping up with the gaming world, the space combat was a point of discussion in a lot of reviews. For instance, a critic mentioned in a RivalsSector news roundup that the mechanical space battles were a highlight that genuinely enhanced the game's immersion.

Enjoy your time in the Settled Systems, and don't forget your helmet! 😉
