Hello everybody,

now that I had found what I thought was the best possible position for reattaching this small Mounting bracket, I tried to glue it back on.

But that was anything but trivial, especially since the space below the Personnel door and the two ECS ducts is very small and difficult to access.

I also had to be extremely careful not to bump into anything on the daring structure while gluing it together, especially since the Transporter with the PLC was unsecured on the flower stand and could have easily crashed.

And then, to make matters worse, another mishap happened when, as I carefully approached it with the tweezers, the holder, which was covered in glue, suddenly slipped out of the tweezers and fell to the floor.

So I used my flashlight to search the tiles next to the stand, but couldn't find anything and could have driven out of my skin, especially since it was getting late at night and bedtime.

But all the searching was useless, so I was about to give up and do without the bracket, which is barely visible on the PLC anyway. And I didn't really feel like scratching the bracket again too.

And as I was still pondering, I suddenly saw the mount lying far away from the stand on the floor, and finally managed to glue it back into place.

Then only one detail remained, and that was the bolts for locking the Container in the four Tie-down Lug Plates,

wherefore I used black broom hairs (Ø 0,2 mm).

I threaded these with a larger overhang into the openings of the Hold-down plates and glued.

After the glue had dried, I trimmed the excess to the same short length as on the other side, which secured the canister on all sides and finally completed the PLC work.

And after the guys of the Can Crew had finally checked everything and found it to be OK,

the finished Transporter with the Payload Canister could be safely parked in his garage in the cupboard,

which means that another subproject of my Long-term project is finally completed.

Then stay tuned there my friend.

I had put this project on hold at the beginning of the year so I could finally finish the Payload Canister.

And that's where I'll continue for now.

Hello again friends,

sorry guys for my long absence, but I had to have my gallbladder removed. I had a plum-sized stone that needed to be removed. I got through it all fine, though, and I'll be back shortly.

On September 29th, I'm leaving for New York City for my US vacation this year. Among other things, I want to see the Enterprise at the Sea, Air and Space Museum on the aircraft carrier Intrepid.

Then I'll be off to Niagara Falls and Toronto, from there to Huntsville, Alabama, U.S. Space & Rocket Center, and then back to Orlando, Florida, Cocoa Beach, KSC, Titusville, etc., until October 30th.

I'll try if I can still finish the Psyche spacecraft before then. I also want to show you a map of the diorama at its intended location, improvised with rulers, and the power bank modified by my "Ghostilluminator" Arno (McPhönix) for the diorama's illumination.

If you want to go back to the start of my diorama and illumination plans then here you go.

My wife needed hers removed just as Covid hit. They delayed her for a year because I was in China when it all started and they called her high-risk. Know what you went through.

While you're in New York try to fit in a visit to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. About an hour north.

Best of wishes to you mate.

My wife went through the same thing about 10 years ago. Sometimes she will feel a bit queezy if she eats too much rich food, but generally it's forgotten about and doesn't really affect her. I think the first year she had to be careful what she ate. But then I'm sure you know all this.

The best bit is getting rid of that pain!

Enjoy your holiday,

Glad to hear that you're recovering well from your surgery!

I'm not sure if you will be driving or not, but if you are going from Toronto to Huntsville through Detroit, you might be taking I-75 to I-65 (via I-71). If that is the way you are taking, you'll be passing through Dayton, which is the home of the National Museum of the United States Air Force. They have an extensive space collection (notably X-15, X-24, Titan IVB, Thor, Jupiter, Peacekeeper, Minuteman III, Apollo 15 CSM) as well as an impressive aircraft collection across 4 hangars. Definitely worth it if you have time to visit (plus it's free!)

I didn't think twice and had a current blood sedimentation test done, which revealed elevated liver enzymes. And therefore I had to go straight to the hospital, and the gallbladder with the stone were out next day.

My schedule is jammed unfortunately, but thanks for the tip.

Hello everybody,

and with that, back to my STS-6 Launch Pad 39A report.

After completing and safely stowing the Payload Canister with the associated Transporter as my final sub-project,

I returned to the Diorama and, together with my "illumination technician" Arno (McPhönix), further modified the multi-power bank for the pad illumination he had developed.

If you'd like to find out more about my Diorama and illumination plans from back then, feel free to take another look here.

At that time, the concept of Dio illumination was still in development, and that power bank would have required a rather complex and complicated separate wiring of the individual LED circuits with the power bank's connection clamps.

That's why my friend Arno has once again invested a lot of spirit and work by first preparing a connection plate and mounting it directly behind the power bank. Its 5 x 15 contact pins are connected to those of the power bank using the two connector plugs, the top of which can be seen here.

On its underside, you can see the soldered wires that have been bundled into a cable harness,

via which this connection plate is connected to a collection plate with the same contact assignment, which is embedded on the diorama near the RSS in the launch pad cover, to which all the LED circuits are soldered, which are led through cable ducts to this collection plate, which can be seen here from both sides.

This solution should make the entire wiring process much easier.

In order to get a better idea of the future location of the diorama, I have marked out its outline (160 cm x 90 cm) in the provided room  with several folding rules and have provisionally set up both the shell buildings of the FSS and RSS as well as the modified multi-power bank, as you can see here.

In the final solution, the power bank will be rotated 90° and mounted so that it can be placed and pulled out under the diorama base plate, as shown in the following image.

And these pictures show the modified diorama layout, a bit clearer and up-to-date,

with which I'd like to say goodbye until my return from my vacation.
