New Google Moonshot - Suncatcher
« on: 11/04/2025 06:08 pm »
This was just released today, 4 nov. Check out https://blog.google/technology/research/google-project-suncatcher/

The various sites and papers about this rely heavily on 200$/kg to orbit. The paper is full of analysis about starship and the trend in cargo cost to orbit.   Looks like we have yet another potential payload for Starship.

Its solar power satellites, but instead of beaming to earth they will use the power in orbit with a tight formation of processors on satellites for machine learning.
