Hey everyone! My name is Walker and I'm an Aero/Astro Master's student at Stanford. I'm taking a course this year where we design and build a sounding rocket (search "AA 284" on https://explorecourses.stanford.edu/ to learn more). I know access to resources on L2 would be hugely helpful for this. Thanks :)

Hi!

My name is Josh and I'm studying mechanical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. I've always been interested in aerospace though and am looking to apply to some positions over the summer. L2 access would be useful to me as I really like being up to date on current space activities and would also like to access historical archives (specifically on the Shuttle).

Thanks, and have a good day!

Welcome Josh and you're in :) PM sent.

Your sponsor is Perchlorate (Pete).

I like Booster Rockets, too, Josh!  Glad to help a little; enjoy L2!

Hi, my name is Michael. I am currently a junior at Lassiter High School and am enrolled in the PLTW Aeronautical Engineering course. Other than the enjoyment from reading through the posts, access to the L2 would greatly help when preparing presentations for class on past and present aeronautical achievements.
        Thanks for your consideration, Michael

And you're in Michael! Sent you a PM with the quick overview/rules.

Your sponsor is Cosmicvoid (Thomas)

Thank you, Cosmicvoid!  And thank you Chris for having this scholarship program!  I'm looking forward to diving into the content.

Thanks again...Michael

Hope I'm in time.

My name is Paul. My e-mail is my edu confirmation.

I'm working through my Aerospace Engineering studies at Georga Tech and I'd really find L2 helpful if this site is the constant standard. Been here as a guest for a long time now, but logged in based on this awesome offer!

Thanks!

Hi, hope I’m not too late.

My name is Jaxon, I live in Australia and heading toward my last 3 senior years of high school. It’s a specialised aviation school which allows me to enrol in subjects such as aerospace studies, graphics and later into engineering subjects.

I’m attending the 5 day advanced Space Camp in October 2019 at Huntsville AL, which is going to be an amazing experience and hope to learn from greatly.

My career goal is to work in the Rocket Propulsion sector and aiming to further my career in aerospace engineering at university.

Love everything about rockets, space and companies involved in this. Australia is planning future rocket launches and know I will be involved along the line once I’ve completed my studies.

Thank you 🚀

Hi everyone,

My name is Anthony and I live in New Zealand.
I feel very grateful to be able to convince my supervisors to let me pursue a research project in space biology.
So I will start a Master's of Science at the University of Auckland next year.

Entry into L2 will allow me to expand my horizon beyond the limitations of a department with no background in space biology. It will also allow me to better understand the current problems in the field.

My goal is to make biology more relevant for space exploration.

Hello NSF! I'm Kevin and full disclaimer I'm very new to the site, but I already find it very useful and really well put together. I'm working through Mechanical Engineering at Caltech and hoping to progress towards a role with JPL or SpaceX. I hope to be involved in vehicles that will transport people to Mars. My edu e-mail is my verification route.

Again, I'm new so I don't really know what I'm missing with L2, but if it's even more of what we see here on the NSF I can access, then it is bound to be very useful for me. Others in this thread already say so.

Thank you,
Kevin.

I'm Lisa and I'm also at Embry-Riddle studying aerospace engineering. I've updated my e-mail to show this in my profile. Been on NSF before going into this course and it was this site that made me want to take it on. Would love access to L2 as it's known to be great and it would aid me in my studies. Thanks!

PERCHLORATE

Thank you so much Pete! (and Chris, of course). I'm already enjoying L2!
It's a very good question and it's a question that has struck me for the last few months.

Currently, I've generalised it into 4 main categories:
- Food production (plants, algae, and others)
- Medicine and health
- Environmental (Waste management and mineral extraction)
- Biomaterials (for everyday items)

Food and medical health are pursued by a range of people.
Of course there are overlaps between categories.
Waste management, mineral extraction, and biomaterials seems to be quite nascent.

My research is on biofilms, which has both medical and environmental implications.
I'm hoping to make some sort of breakthrough to allow a transition into environmental and biomaterials at some point.
That's what I have for now!
