Might as well start the thread for the launch of the second Bars-M cartographic satellite which was scheduled for August before there was the Progress-M 27M failure to disrupt things.   Not sure what the knock-on effect might be for the Bars-M launch schedule.

This tender appears to confirm that the 2nd is to go up six months after the 1st?

Which supports what Mr. Pillet posted:-
I have the plan for all the Soyuz launches from Baikonur and Plesetsk for the next two years :

Do we have any updates about the launch schedule for this mission, please?   It was going to be launched around August 30th.

The latest launch listing from Rui is showing a "Cosmos" launch from Plesetsk in the third week of September: I wonder if this could be the second Bars-M?.

I don't think so, as this entry came from a quote by the general director of ISS Reshetnev that they have a satellite built for the Russian MoD to be launched from Plesetsk in late September. And here I thought that Bars-M is a TsSKB-Progress product.....  ::)

OK, I had missed that the launch would be a Reshetnev satellite.   The second Bars-M was due at the end of August so I wonder how long it has been delayed for.

There is this tender from Progress:-
Quote
Анализ допущенных отступлений от КД и ТД и оценка эффективности мер по их устранению при производстве изделий 14С46 №3-138, №6-138, 47КС №3Л, 14Ф148 №2
http://www.zakupki.gov.ru/223/purchase/public/purchase/info/common-info.html?noticeId=3210202

14С46 is the Volga upper stage, with №3 to be used for the next Soyuz-2-1V and №6 for Lomonosov. 47КС is Resurs-P.

All has been quiet on the Bars-M #2 front.   Are there any rumours of a launch schedule yet?   It was supposed to go in August last year but that slipped following the Progress problems in April.

Both #1 and #2 were due last year (six months apart) with #3 being due in 2018.

I think the 2018 date for #3 is based on the first having launched in 2013 and lasting 5 years?

Notice in Anik’s serial numbers 76058161/31М135С listed under fairing 14С744. So is that the serial number of the rocket too?

I concur with that. Practically identical to the previous Bars-M
