How about if we have a second poll on what people think was the purpose of this poll?  Was it to gather the community consensus or to see "who was right"?  IMO the latter is worth exactly how much it costs each of us to cast a vote.

I remain impressed by how well the inital aggregate opinion modeled the year.  I look forward to the poll on next year's SpaceX launch total.

Lets do a quick poll to see if that second poll idea has support or not ..

I think we need a Poll to see if we need a Poll to decide if we are going to do a second Poll.

The reason I made the thread was because threads kept being derailed on the subject of how many flights SpaceX would have this year (2012).  Didn't expect the poll to get this many replies, but it certainly shows the popularity of the discussion.  Yes, I'll make a new one in December.  And probably another one the year after.  After that, SpaceX will probably be up to speed with their launches and it wouldn't merit further discussion.  :)

From Bloomberg Businessweek:

Next year, SpaceX looks to launch eight flights, and as many as 16 the following year. If it hits those goals, SpaceX would be handling the majority of the world’s commercial spaceflights.

Then we can poll on just the Falcon Heavy launches. :)

Having reliable schedule just only after three years? I do not believe Musk will manage it that fast. In ten years, sure.

I'm pretty sure the consensus reaching upthread was 'no'. Not that we're not all rooting for Grasshopper to get off the ground.

Looks like "the wisdom of crowds" prevailed, with SpaceX performing the consensus two  launches.

2013 should be even more interesting.  Can we start the poll now?

Well, I was hoping to have a definitive answer on the engine failure.  I've read the content on L2, but I don't know how much CRS2 will really be delayed.  Nor do I do really much know how far along v1.1 is.

But yeah, it's December, and I promised to make a new thread.  I'll go ahead and ask to have this one closed and make the finishing touches on the new thread.   :)
