Miscellaneous launch schedule
« on: 02/10/2009 05:49 pm »
This launch schedule is intended to cover counties which are not covered by the other launch schedule threads. I am also including Israel, because they usually launch every other year, and the Israeli launch schedule is hence rarely updated.

Date - Payload - Rocket - Site - Country
25 February 2009? - TBD - Taepodong-2 - Musudan-ri - N. Korea - officially orbital, but probably suborbital
June 2009 - TBD - KSLV - Naro - S. Korea/Russia
4Q 2009  - Ofeq-8 - Shavit-2 - Palmachim - Israel - or 2010
2009/10 - Mesbah - Safir - Semnan - Iran

2010 - TBD/Nano-JASMINE - Tsyklon-4 - Alcântara - Ukraine

2011 - TBD - VLS-1 - Alcântara - Brazil
2011 - ELE - Haas - Balloon - Romania

2014 - TBD - Pengorbitan-1 -Lapan - Indonesia - or 2012

Pengorbitan-1 is being developed by Spacetecx State Corp. of Indonesia. Does any body have concreate information about this company?

I guess, they work with Alac.

Any idea when and which launch vehicle will launch joint CNES-ISA mission; Venus?

It supposed to be launched at 2009 but it have not appeared on the launch lists yet.

VENUS is currently scheduled for launch in 2011 (1st quarter).

See here: http://smsc.cnes.fr/VENUS/

From this site you could get the impression, that VENUS was originally planned to launch piggy-back on a Ariane 5: http://www.ueaf.net/actualites/fis_288.html

Don't know if that is still the plan (or ever was), but I have a hard time imagining what sense it would make to launch a polar satellite piggy-back on a GTO trajectory.

If the launch is in 2011, they could surly use VEGA.

Ariane doesn't always fly to GTO. They do occasionally fly to SSO (okay, the last was in 2004).

There is one going that way in December this year with a Helios satellite, perhaps Venμs was originally scheduled to be on that launch. I agree that it will probably end up on Vega.

Absolutely no chance of Shavit. Wrong orbit.

Always nice to see some sign of life.

Slightly off-topic, and not a spaceflight (except by the US definition), but AEB fired an Orion-1 rocket from Alcântara on Friday to test the range.

Article shows high level of know how by including an Ariane 5 pic and labelling it "Shuttle".  :(

Back in 1965 Indonesia announced that it would begin manned space launches in 1968.   Still waiting.

Quote
"This one, which will consist of four stages, will be part of an RPS-01 rocket to put a satellite in orbit," Soewarto said.

He said LAPAN had earlier successfully tested the flights of RX-320 and RX-420 rockets whose components would be used to build a RPS-01 rocket to carry a satellite to an orbit around earth.

The rockets, he said, would be the prototypes of satellite carrying rockets to be launched in 2014.
