Dulles radio feed:

New York

And dont bother with flight aware, as it will be under a military flightplan.

Thanks Ron. I haven't used liveatc.net before. So far I hear runway 30 being used for some takeoffs, which is the angled runway heading in a northwestly direction. Hope to hear some other runway use before I leave home to drive out there.

Good, and I see that the CNN crew have set up on the Daily parking garage 2 where I took pictures of the sling and Discovery before:

CNN has a live stream
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/cvplive/cvpstream2

As I said in the general thread, you can watch regular CNN as well, but A) it will have reporter commentary in the audio, which can be painful to listen to for a number of reasons, and B) they will cut away to other stories from time to time, not to mention commercials.

This live stream should be devoid of commentary and should stay on this event.  I'm told they have multiple camera feeds in Washington and New York so they should have great coverage.

This is live feed #2, and it should stay there, but if it stops working for you, try going to http://live.cnn.com to see if they moved the feed (e.g. to #1).

EDIT:  well, so much for that.  It looks like they will sometimes use the feeds for reporter shots (that's fair, right?) and when they set those shots up they will switch to slate ("stream starts soon").  So during those periods, switch to watching CNN itself, or just wait a bit until their setup work is done.

PSA #1: EST does NOT mean "Eastern Time".  Use "Eastern" or "ET" instead, all year round, and avoid this common error.  Google "EST vs EDT".
PSA #2: It's and its: know the difference and quietly impress grammar pedants.  Google "angry flower its" .

On Liveatc.net I'm also hearing runway 1C being used for incoming planes.
So takeoffs and landings are all using the north or northwest departures.

This means that takeoff viewing of Enterprise will be best to the north of the airport.

NTV may be heading towards coverage, playing the epic "We are the explorers" video at the moment.

Edit: Video file next.

For those going to Dulles, runway 30 favors going to daily parking 2 structure.

Watching Internet for takeoff announcement.  http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/livenow?id=8637251 has live feed (no narration, just voices and wind in background).  Nothing on CNN live yet.

After all my nostalgic discussion of NYC viewing spots (http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=20866.270), my plan at the moment is to keep an eye peeled on the Internet, walk onto my balcony here in the Dulles area just after takeoff, snap a pic or two.
