Per video above, an X-post/thread with much of the same content.  Good to see Relativity progressing.

LC16 is progressing, but the GSE looks to me like it is not too close for a launch anytime soon.  I think they are still ‘shooting for’ a late 2026 launch.

We previously discussed the transporter out in the parking lot, but after seeing how large these tanks are (diameter), it's going to be very interesting to see how they plan to move these to the port for shipment to the Cape. The tank diameter and the height of it mounted on the transporter may necessitate utility pole movement to allow clearance, similar to what was done with the Space Shuttle tank in Los Angeles.

Building Terran R means solving challenges in real time — from designing custom tooling to refining tank welds.

Every decision balances performance, manufacturability, and reusability. See how our team is turning those challenges into progress.

Meet the Propulsion Materials & Processes Team

Quote

Oct 1, 2025
At Relativity Space, rocket engines demand a lot from our materials—and our Materials & Processes (M&P) team is here to deliver.

From gas generators to thrust chamber assemblies, the team shows how M&P powers the Aeon R engine program, ensuring reliability, repeatability, and performance across Terran R.

They’re hands-on at every stage of the product life cycle: developing alloys, qualifying processes, selecting materials, and supporting manufacturing.

Working in extreme environments — from high cyclic loads to blazing temperatures — this team keeps Terran R’s hardware mission-ready.

P.S. this team is growing: https://bit.ly/RelativitySpaceJobs

Thinking in the Mars mission with Impulse Space...

The final leg of a rocket development cycle tends to be the one that drags out the longest. No one who is constrained for capital wants to put a rocket on the pad that won't have an actual chance to make it to orbit.

ULA has seen this, Blue Origin has seen this, RocketLab is currently seeing this, and Relativity as well.

They still producing qualification hardware and completing subsystem CDRs. They still have a while to go.

2026 is out of the question. I'm sure Relativity themselves have some kind of nominal date like Q4 2026, but Berger's law is going to kick in. A good and still-plausible outcome for them would be H1 2027. And that could easily shift to the right.

While getting to pad is long expensive  grind, making it to orbit reliably ie few times a year is just as hard and expensive again. Both Beck and Musk have stated this few times about scaling launch rates.

Relativity's owner is going to need deep pockets. All going well may see successful reuse and few launches a year by 2030. Early 2030s before Terran R starts making a profit. In mean time there is going to be few failures on way up and few more on wayback down to recovery barge.

At Launch Complex 16, construction is taking shape across every corner of our Florida launch site.

✔️The horizontal integration facility (HIF) is now fully framed in steel, with siding panels going up.
✔️Just north of the HIF, foundation piles are being installed for two 531-foot lightning towers that will protect Terran R during launch operations.
✔️The fluids team erected two 30,000-gallon liquid oxygen tanks at the propellant farm, with more tanks on the way.

SES, Relativity Space Expand Multi-Launch Agreement for Terran R [Nov 12]

Quote
SES announced today an extended multi-year, multi-launch services agreement with Relativity Space, the aerospace company building the Terran R rocket. The companies are partnering for multiple launches aboard Terran R, a medium-to-heavy-lift, reusable launch vehicle, that will bring the selected SES satellites to their final orbital position.

The expanded agreement includes previously unannounced SES launches. With this new agreement, Relativity’s Terran R will provide SES with high performance, reliability, and affordable access to space. Terran R’s first launch is currently planned for late 2026 from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Terran R build is accelerating across the vehicle and in parallel, production capacity continues to expand with the addition of dozens of new powder bed fusion printers and CNC machines.

✅ Stage 2 downcomer and forward test adapter installed ahead of acceptance testing
✅ Stage 1 fuel tank welding complete, with COPVs installed and barrel painting finished
✅ Thrust structure hardware-in-the-loop hardware integration complete — establishing a testbed for vehicle software, avionics, and partner teams to validate designs, automation, and configuration before use on flight hardware
✅ Fabrication of the interstage kicked off, with panel production and barrel weldment underway
✅ Two Aeon R engines were manufactured, assembled, and shipped to @NASAStennis  for testing

Testing like you fly over at NASA Stennis. At the R Stand, Aeon R stage 1 engines and the Aeon R vacuum development engine are keeping the stand hot.

✔️ First round of acceptance testing for a stage one engine
✔️ Testing continues on the second stage Aeon V engine development article
✔️ High-flow thermal shock testing executed on the stage-press valve at E2

Over at the A2 Stand, supporting future Terran R stage testing:
✔️ Reinforcement beams installed, structural upgrades ongoing
✔️ Welds advancing on the live ring for stage-level thrust absorption
✔️ Environmental control system vaporizer lifted into place
