Redo Apollo 8 in a Dragon

Voted Reenact with New, since a new clean sheet design would be faster and cheaper than restarting the half-million-person Apollo supply chain.

As Lar above. Apollo 8 in a Dragon. Heck, you might even be able to have some of the original crew :-)

Would have been great to send Armstrong, Lovell and Cernan up, just to demonstrate how wrong they were.

Launch Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and Gary Sinise in a Dragon around the moon.

Oh wait... that crew might not want to go on a 'solo-ship' run ;D

The BEST way to celebrate the 50th anniversary?  Have someone on the Moon saying Hello back to Earth.

How about a maiden launch such as SLS or Orion?  Should this happen, everybody will be asking when the next launch is.

July 2019 seems sporty to do this.

Too late. SLS has been pushed to NET December 2019 and is unlikely to make that date, never mind anytime earlier.

Since Dragon can reportedly carry more than one person, include Michael Collins since he was the command module pilot on "11".

Maybe not reactivate the entire Saturn-V stack, but at the least, get the F-1B engine up and running and use 2 of them per liquid booster.

I could get behind a Block II SLS launcher running a cluster of RS-25s on the Core Stage with a quartet of F-1B engines boosting the stack into orbit.

Well, you wouldn't actually want to "get behind" it because that would be a little toasty...

Are we limiting "something else"s to things that are within the realm of somewhat realistic possibility?
Shouldn't reality posts be in "Advanced concepts"?  --Nomadd

A crewed lunar flyby. Send a Dragon 2 with Falcon Heavy on a circumlunar trajectory.

How about building a life size wooden replica of Saturn V. Somewhere other than Florida. Maybe in Central Park or Nevada. Standing upright of course, maybe with a tower next to it so you could take a trip to the top. Somewhere people could visit and get close and try to imagine the real thing and what it took to make and operate.

If practical (probably not) round up as many Apollo conspiracy 'Hoaxtards' as possible and subject them to varying degrees of painful corporal punishment for polluting the internet - predominantly nearly every major Space and science news website on the planet, not to mention social media :(

If the lunar tourist mission happens on or very close to the Apollo 11 Anniversary, perhaps they could add a third, surprise person to the crew manifest? Or what about carrying some ashes from all of the so-far deceased Moonwalkers? :) :'(
