Title: Soyuz T-6 Thirty years ago
Post by: jacqmans on 06/28/2012 03:20 pm
Thirty years ago this week, Soyuz T-6 was launched on 24 June 1982, with Jean-Loup Chrétien, V. Dzhanibekov and A. Ivanchenkov linking up with Salyut 7. Jean-Loup was the first Frenchman and first Western European in space.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first joint flight between
Russia and France, the French embassador in Paris asked us (spacepatches.nl) to design a
logo that could be used for the official celebrations on June 26 at Le
Bourget. The logo shows the 'Starman' fom the original patch that was
used by the crew of Jean-Lou Chrétien's mission in 1982, accompanied
by colors of the Russian and French flags. A bigger star is depicted
for every single joint French-Russian manned mission of the past 30
years ('ans' in French, 'let' in Russian). Two stars are yellow, to
indicate that these missions were flown together with the
Soviet-Union.
