I now have my coworker's copy in my grubby little hands.

GO BUY THIS BOOK!

Well, coming from you, that's all the recommendation I needed.  I just ordered it.   ;D
The Space Age is just starting to get interesting.

Mr Zak - who is brilliant - either reads this site (hope so!) or was made aware of this thread, as he tweeted about it today! :)

Anatoly Zak ‏@RussianSpaceWeb
Multiple sightings of just delivered copies of Russia in Space are reported around North America: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=31985.0
How come Anatoly Zak is not on NSF already?  :(  Someone should ask him to join here too. Would be a valuable addition!
I believe that he is a registered member of this forum.
IMHO he would be even more informed if he would be a member of L2 section (To Chris Bergin - wink, wink).
Anatoly is off-line by some family reasons, but he asked me to say hello to all posters at NSF,  that he "really flattered and thankful for all the positive feedback".  BTW - he got his printed book from publisher too!

That's very nice. Thanks for passing on.....and if he gets in touch, the wink will be converted into action! ;)

Just ordered my copy, hopefully it won't take too long to get to this side of the pond I.e. UK

Let me know on that shipping time, as I'll be getting it too when I've saved up some pennies.

Got mine today (on the left side of the pond) a week after ordering it. A beautiful piece of work.

My copy just arrived - wow, what a book.  I too did not realise it was large format.  This is a book to savour.  Thank you for this magnificent work Anatoly.
Apologies in advance for any lack of civility - it's unintended

Small video:  :)

http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20130810/NJNEWS/308100002/Exploring-Golden-Age-space
AUTHOR EXPLORES the 'Golden Age' of space.
Hmmm I would strongly disagree with such title - IMHO period from 1991 would be classified as "Dark Ages" but not quite a Golden Age of Russian Space Program.

Got my copy today - signed by author!
@Hyperion5 - there are no 3D pictures of Energia LV (only photos). I'll post table of content - the story in book covers period from 1991.

The other book, if anyone interested is:

Hunger by Sean Kelly (legendary Tour de France cyclist).

Just got my copy in the post today. I have just flicked through it so far, but it looks very nice. Only 18 days since placing order with Apogee for it to get to this side of the pond.

I got my copy today.  Practically the first thing I saw was the Bob Dylan quote on the first page.  "Trying To Get To Heaven Before They Close The Door" from the 1997 album "Time Out Of Mind" (one of my favorites).  Niiice.

I think I'm going to like this book.   ;)

Just got mine--the graphics and photos are outstanding and aided by the use of glossy paper.

Is this book at BookDepository the same edition? It's got a slightly different title (though unavailable).

Targeterr, I agree that the glossy paper does enhance the photographs and illustrations, but it makes the reading of the text more difficult. I find myself having to continually adjust the angle of the page to avoid glare.

Having said that the contents of the book make the effort worthwhile.
