I want to move this to the newsfeed thread, as we've got a lot of active threads on this section and I want this to stay near the top of the page - plus this is news.

Thanks for sending over the link. Not the sort of content one is expected to hear from NASA PR ;)

MSFC. Need I say more. I mentioned on the Shuttle Summit thread that MSFC did not get their act together for this.

They spend most of their exsistance trying to justify their exsistance and then do this. The story is totally correct and I'm glad this is out in the public domain.

And Chris, NASA PR are never going to tell you anything negative.

Would this be a case where Mike Griffin can step in and start kicking some asses, or does Wayne Hale have the authority to do that himself (and would he)?

Where's the positives? Objectivity?

The positives are self evident in the fact that officially May the target for STS-121. To me, article points to a specific element of the sort of debate on-going in making that a reality. In my opinion, objectivity comes naturally from the mix of coverage from on-going events in the lead-up to STS-121 - the good, the bad and the ugly - and I enjoyed reading about Hale kicking some arse.

Lockmart and MAF... and they get auto inclusion in SDLV.. its time for some other processor/manufacture of large tanks, that or some significant penalties against Lockmart, just like what happend to Boeing in regards to some Airforce contract issues.

Just sounds to me like they need to get a new boss in one of the departments. I'm happy to hear about Wayne giving slapdowns as they'll not be doing that again :)

Sounds like some of the managers are a little scared of Wayne Hale? What's he like as a manager? He seems pretty friendly on the press conferences.

He comes across as a decent guy, but who knows. It is his job to get this all sorted out when MSFC go silent on the phone! I know it is not an ideal situation to read about, but it gave me a smile that everyone is being pushed to get this right ahead of 121.

This doesn't worry me at all. Its from a site that is negative towards Nasa and even then it actually shows they really have their game faces on.

We're a site that is positive towards NASA, does that make our news less of a resource?

News is news.

Yawn. If that is the case then why would the editor of this site (me) donate real cash and time to efforts like this

http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=17655

and this

http://research.spaceref.com:16080/acmgh/

which directly benefit NASA - and make it look good?
