Elon Musk says the Inspiration4 mission's parameters are up to Isaacman.

"We're assuming two to four days," but that may change.

Elon Musk says SpaceX plans to use Crew Dragon spacecraft Resilience for the Inspiration4 mission.

Resilience is currently docked with the space station, having launched NASA's Crew-1 mission.

Sounds like preparation for the mission will include preparation on a mountainside: In the snow, with the four-person crew inside a tent smaller than Crew Dragon.

Issacman: "I will introduce a very stressful situation."

"Everyone's got to eat a giant bean burrito," Musk quips.

Musk says NASA has been briefed on this mission and is supportive. Plan is to use the Crew Dragon spacecraft currently on orbit, Resilience.

Medical restrictions? Elon Musk says if you can go on the Hulk ride at Universal Studios in Florida, you should be fine.

I would be surprised if the AX-1 crew was assigned an unflown (brand new) spacecraft.

Already said here : the spacecraft Commander, Michael Lopez-Alegria, said that Ax-1 would use the Resilience capsule.

2 crews for the same capsule to iss and single flight?

Was thinking the same thing. The refurb timeline should actually work out OK if the schedules broadly hold. Inspiration 4 is a short-duration mission so if it flies in Q4 2021, they can refurb it in time for a NET January 2022 Ax-1 (as the stated refurb time is 2 months).

Wow, between this and the Axiom missions it looks like NASA will be less than half of Dragon missions. No wonder Gwynne Shotwell deliberately only counted ISS Crew and Resupply in the press conference after the last mission. Once again shows how hard it is to overestimate SpaceX, I knew they were aiming for the private market as well, but seeing so many missions coming this soon still blows my mind.

I guess getting loads of publicity now will also help motivate people to pave the way for getting Starship licensed.

I'm waiting for the story that SpaceX is building a 3rd east coast F9 pad.  Those boosters are going to be busy!
Wildly optimistic prediction, Superheavy recovery on IFT-4 or IFT-5

The Hulk is my favorite coaster.  Probably rode it a dozen times, the shoot out of the tube to start is fantastically deceptive.

Just an FYI for the forum members that are outside the US.

St. Judes is a children's hospital focusing on serious illnesses such as cancer. Families are not charged for medical services. If there were ever an organization that deserves some high profile promotion, St. Judes is it. Excellent pick by Mr. Isaacman.

Anyway, back to the rockets.

The Spaceflight is tentatively scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida on or around October 21, 2021 (such date subject to change at the sole discretion of Launch Services Provider) (the “Prize”).

Looks like they snagged the launch that Axiom wanted for AX-1.

The Inspiration4 flight is worth more PR than the Axiom flight for SpaceX. It is better for Axiom too, since it publicize their later flight with the same Dragon on a Super Bowl TV ad.

note - for non-North Americans. Super Bowl is the final post season playoff game for professional American Football. It generally features the most expensive TV ads that have the highest viewership of the year. Inspiration4 will be running a 30 second ad during the Super Bowl broadcast.

This is the first real test of Commercial Human Spaceflight as major media content. Perfect that it debuts with a Super Bowl ad. It’s the Final Frontier as Reality TV and Social Media. A worthy cause smooths the path.

This is quite unlike Space Tourism which is just a private experience for the rich. This will likely grow into a major source of revenue and political support for Elon’s Mars settlement economics.

I just donated 50 bucks. A chance to ride on dragon aside, St. Jude's is a great cause, and worth donating to.
