There was the bird strike on STS-114.

Didn't cause any damage. The big bird won, needless to say.

Here's the video

I have the best story, but alas no photo.  On STS-34, the Galileo mission, we were watching the psot launch replays.  The replay of camera #60 or 61, which ever one that shows the beanie cap and the LO2 vent was on. We noticed that as the beanie cap lifted off the ET, there was a lizard running around the top of the ET.  It stayed on thru SSME ignition and the twang and was last seen going up as the top of the ET left the field of view.  Can't imagine his ultimate demise

and today- that lizard is selling insurance for...... :)   Of course, after falling miles and miles from the ET, he found himself washed ashore  in the UK where he stayed long enough to acquire a Cockney accent.

(I'm afraid only American television viewers will get the joke.)
