.@AST_SpaceMobile V-band application partially granted. Full constellation and terrestrial mobile bands deferred for further consideration.  https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-24-756A1.pdf

Quote
In this Order and Authorization, we grant in part, with conditions, the request of AST&Science LLC (AST) to launch and operate its planned constellation of non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites in low-Earth orbit (LEO).1 Specifically, we grant, with conditions, operations for five satellites which would operate feeder links and nominal telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) operations using frequencies in the 37.5-42 GHz (space-to-Earth), 47.2-50.2 GHz (Earth-to-space), and 50.4-51.4 GHz (Earth-to-space) bands. We further grant AST authority to conduct TT&C with its authorized satellites in the 430-440 MHz (space-to-Earth and Earth-to-space), 2025-2110 MHz (Earth-tospace), and 2200-2290 MHz (space-to-Earth) bands. In connection with this grant, we address three Petitions to Deny filed by CTIA, T-Mobile USA, Inc. (T-Mobile), and Verizon, the informal objection filed by Hughes Network Systems, LLC, EchoStar Mobile Limited, and EchoStar Global Australia Pty Ltd (collectively, EchoStar), and the various comments and letters filed regarding this application. We defer consideration of AST’s request for authority to AST to deploy and operate the other 243 requested satellites and also defer grant of authority to operate on any additional frequencies, including any bands allocated to terrestrial services that it would ultimately seek to utilize for the provision of Supplemental Coverage from Space (SCS).2

AST SpaceMobile Provides Business Update and Second Quarter 2024 Results [Aug 14]

Quote
First 5 commercial satellites on target for dedicated orbital launch in first half of September, each the largest-ever communications arrays to be deployed commercially in low Earth orbit
 • Final assembly and environmental testing completed successfully at AST SpaceMobile manufacturing facilities in Texas
 • Satellites are now at Cape Canaveral preparing for launch vehicle integration ahead of a confirmed launch date
 • Secured FCC approval with initial license for launch of first 5 commercial satellites

Q2 2024 Earnings Call Transcript

Quote
Just last week, our first five commercial satellites called BlueBird’s arrived in Cape Canaveral, Florida, after completing final assembly at our manufacturing facilities in Texas. These satellites are now undergoing final preparation for integration with Falcon 9 launch vehicle for a dedicated mission.

We have seven-day contracted orbit and launch window in the first half of September. Our current expectation is that we will launch in the first half of September. So this is ultimately based on a variety of factors outside our control, including the weather conditions. As the target date is finalized, we will communicate this with the public.

Yes, Bluewalker 3 and the 5 Block 1's have LVA's for each satellite that are Orbital Debris.

Since these will be "Direct Injected" at 525km,  Then these LVA will be a source of debris for the next 7-8 years.

It should be noted that these 5-Block1's were originally intended to be injected at 720km, but due to the Debris of the LVA's.  They were required to lower them to 525km.

Here is the LVA from the original BlueWalker 3 test satellite.

NORAD-54247  Launched 10 Sept. 2022

Which first stage will be used for this launch? (semi-rhetorical question)

Falcon 9 first stages are now cleared for use up to forty times for non-crewed launches, although that number is apparently more restricted for Cargo Dragon or Cygnus than these other payloads.

1083.4 is set aside for Polaris Dawn.  Almost new first stage 1085.2 is set aside for Crew-9.

1064.6 and 1065.6 are the Falcon Heavy side boosters for Europa Clipper.

1072.2 and 1086.2 are being converted to "single-sticks" after their recovery as the Falcon Heavy side boosters from the GOES-U launch.

Available first stages, with UTC date of most recent recovery:
1072.2    Jun 25   (maybe)
1086.2    Jun 25   (maybe)
1078.13  Aug 2
1080.11  Aug 4
1067.22  Aug 10  Galileo Flight 13
1073.18  Aug 12
1076.17  Aug 15

Edit September 12: It's B1078.13.
