INPE - Galileo Solar Space Telescope

It is certainly unknown by a lot of people, but the INPE (Brazil's “National Institute for Space Research”) has the “Galileo Solar Space Telescope” project, which have the following objectives (by the mission summary):
“The GSST mission is to perform from space, solar observations in high resolution to characterize the evolution of the magnetic structure of the photosphere, chromosphere, transition region and corona and its impact on the Geospace.
Specifically, the mission has three main objectives, with different degrees of priorities:
1) Primary: Understand the evolution of the magnetic structures of the outer layer of the Sun;
2) Secondary: Understand the Sun's influence on Earth's Climate and;
3) Tertiary: Understand the Sun's influence on the Geospace.”
Last year, Inpe's currently director (as of 2023/24) almost managed to stop the project of being accepted by the Brazilian Space Agency for a long time, as you may read in deep at the links below. The GSST team, to fight back, started a petition to gather international support — and they were successful. While it is still to receive the final green light, it has passed the Agency admission process (as of December 2023).
