The first "shared" rocket bid is successful, and "carpooling" in space will become a reality

On July 13, the bidding project for the launch opportunity of the Long March 6C carrier rocket of the aerospace electronics procurement platform was a complete success. The auction starts at 15:00 and ends at 16:00. According to statistics, the project attracted a total of 11,348 onlookers, 13 companies signed up, and 1 company bid. In the end, the project was won by an enterprise in Suzhou with a starting price of 80,000 yuan/kg. According to the company, it plans to purchase a 15kg delivery service.

Rocket 'Carpool' Launch Auction Opens New Minds

This auction is a brand-new attempt at digital marketing of aerospace products. The launch and transaction of rocket auctions are all implemented by the aerospace electronic procurement platform. On the platform, there are 150,000 various aerospace-related companies, and there are various product auctions every day. The platform has always put forward certain requirements for the credit qualifications and technical skills of the bidding companies. This time, it will conduct certain screenings including past experience and the purpose of carrying the space to ensure that the final product will indeed contribute to the aerospace industry. This time, information and data such as the launch period and carrying capacity of the bidding launch service will be pre-published online, and the auction will be conducted online and the transaction will be completed. The completely online auction process indicates that a new model of digital marketing of aerospace products is becoming a reality, with the aerospace electronic procurement platform as the link and through data docking with multiple parties.

Rocket "carpool" launched to explore a new model of sharing

The innovation of the "carpooling" rocket launch mode was born in response to market demand. With the continuous development of my country's satellite technology, especially in the field of civilian satellites, the mode of launching small satellites in batches and forming constellations in space has gradually become the mainstream. In order to meet the growing demand for launches, "piggyback" and "shared rockets" provide lower cost and more flexible launch methods. The Aerospace Electronics Procurement Platform takes this opportunity to provide more accurate supply and demand matching channels and more efficient and open digital procurement services, serving enterprises, suppliers, purchasers, service providers and individual users, with data and openness as the core, and " Sharing, win-win, and co-creation" is the concept to build an aerospace supply chain ecosystem.

The rocket for this auction is the Long March 6C launch vehicle developed by the Eighth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group, which is expected to be launched by the end of this year. Task.

The Great Wall Company of Aerospace Science and Technology Group is the launch service provider of the Long March series of launch vehicles, and has provided launch services for the international aerospace market since the 1990s. my country's aerospace industry covers multiple fields such as upstream rocket launch, satellite and ground equipment development, midstream satellite operation, and downstream satellite application. Long March 6 and Long March 8 are new-generation carrier rockets. On the other hand, Great Wall Corporation launched the "Long March Express" program and launched a "carpooling" launch mode for shared rockets. Compared with the "carrying" form in previous missions, the "shared rocket" launch mode first determines the launch vehicle model and preliminary launch plan, and then recruits satellite passengers in the market. It has the characteristics of low launch cost and good mission adaptability. .

In April of this year, the Aerospace Science and Technology Group released a list of launch opportunities for launch vehicles "carried" and "shared rockets" in 2023 and 2024. Including this launch, there are a total of 9 launch missions, providing Long March rockets with different launch services such as "whole rocket launch", "piggyback launch" and "network launch" for the international and domestic markets. Subsequent aerospace electronic procurement platforms will continue to launch more launch auction opportunities.
The CZ-6C might be launched by end of this year from Taiyuan with payload from Suzhou Yanhang Keji (苏州演航科技有限公司).

Neptune 01 star arrangement waiting list

On March 30, the Neptune 01 star factory review meeting was held at the bank of Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou. The meeting was hosted by Ningbo Zhihui Space Technology Co., Ltd., and leaders of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Aerospace Information Innovation Institute, the Eighth Aerospace Academy, Shanghai Satellite Engineering Research Institute, Shanghai Aerospace and Space Technology Co., Ltd. and user units were invited to attend.

After listening to the factory review report of Neptune 01, the participating experts said that the satellite's SAR payload subsystem and platform have completed the prescribed development and testing work in accordance with the technical process. The tests and analysis showed that the satellite's SAR payload subsystem and platform functions and performance indicators Meet the requirements, the process is controlled, and it has factory conditions.

Neptune 01 is the first star of Ningbo Zhihui Space Technology Co., Ltd.'s "Neptune Constellation" and is expected to be launched from the Taiyuan base on a Long March 6C carrier rocket in early May this year. The "Neptune Constellation" consists of 36 radar satellites. After the system is completed, the satellite remote sensing data acquisition capability will reach the international leading level, and it can observe the Earth once an hour in the 55° north and south latitude area.
The one of payloads is Haiwangxing 01 (海王星01).

NOTAMs are still active - I would expect them cancelled at this point per previous Chinese launches practices unless it's a late delay.
