How to watch ISRO rocket launches? - Guide
« on: 07/31/2022 08:00 pm »
These are some of the official and unofficial ways to watch an ISRO rocket launch. Launches take place from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR) at Sriharikota. This is reachable from Sullurpeta town in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Official method (Indian citizens only):
Launch View Gallery at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota (SDSC SHAR). ISRO has a web portal where general public can register and get "launch witness pass". Launch View Gallery is in SDSC SHAR premises and has a capacity of 5000~7500 people. It has multiple big screens that stream official ISRO launch broadcast as well. Launch View Gallery launch pass registration website: https://lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCREGISTRATION/index.jsp

Unofficial method:
There are several viewpoints with launch pad visibility near Pulicat lake on Sullurpeta-Sriharikota Road. These are accessible by motor vehicles (bikes/cars/auto rickshaw/buses etc.). One of the popular viewpoints is along Venadu Road just after Pulicat Bird Sanctuary in Attakanitippa village on Sullurpeta-Sriharikota Road. Take a right turn from Sriharikota Road to Venadu Road, and park anywhere along Pulicat lake bank to watch the launch. Launch pads would be on your left when you're on this road facing East.
