So, out of all the various plans that eventually became the ISS (Space Station Freedom, Fred, Alpha, etc.), which was the most smallest and most limited proposal?
I've heard Alpha was, but I haven't been able to find any images of the design, so I'm not certain if that's true.

There was Option C in the 1993 report. Basically a Shuttle-C launched station, using Columbia’s aft compartment and engines.
